The upcoming road-trip looks like just what the doctor ordered for this team; starting with lowly NJ. Hopefully, a chance for this team to redeem itself. Only Memphis should be a potential challenge, imo.
I think that with last night's ugly loss, the Blazers must win at least four of these road games to stay in the hunt for a playoff spot. Fortunately, I think that's do-able. Five would be gravy...and we could use some gravy after these painful losses.
That's how I felt before last nights game. Now I will be surprised if we win one game. The loss last night could send us into a tailspin.
i think that a loss like that sends an already trying season into a pure spiral. im almosr certain we lose to the nets. that would finish us. the suns last year who fell apart after the break will be us this year
That matters what your goals for the season are. Making the playoffs is still always possible until mathematically eliminated. I personally gave up on everythign besides a playoff birth right after Oden went out, and wrote this season off as a developmental season hoping we would play the young players. That time is here. It's time to find out about them by end of year.
sorry but thats such bullshit about losing oden. IF this team cant make the playoffs with the rest of the core.... then we have a MAJOR issue here. getting camby makes it more disturbing. do you really think oden saves us next year? i understand we might not do much in playoffs but CMON DUDE.... this team has all streaky shooters and 1 (whos boderline injury prone) guy in roy who creates his own shot. thats a fucking problem. huge problem.
So because it happened to the Suns, it's going to happen to us? That's fucking stupid. When Camby gets comfortable and adjusts to being on the team, I could see us doing well enough to make the playoffs.
im fucking heartbroken on that loss. its just the truth wether you wanna admit it or not. HORRIBLE LOSS. Thats the kind of loss you dont recover from. Our only hope is that the hornets, rockets, and spurs have tough scheds.
Mixum, how about this. If we make the Playoffs, you leave the S2 community for good. Just because you seem so sure we're fucked for the season. You can't lose right?
It is a problem, but it reality, and it is past the trade deadline. The facts are that with young players you often have to take lumps to get to the good times, and that is if those good times ever come. Are you going to tell me that OKC didn't go through growing pains to get Westbrook up to the level he is? Look at Golden State with Stephen Curry. Pretty painful earlier in the year. Getting better now. How about Memphis and OJ Mayo? The facts are we have to give these young guys some minutes, and a lost season like this one is the best time to do such things. If we are fortunate, by end of year we have one of our younger players gain confidence and become a cog in the Blazer wheel. They have a saying in drag racing. Run what you brung. This is what we have brung. So you better get used to it, because by end of year, nothing is changing. So all you can do is hope somebody steps up and becomes a good player, or, even shows a sign of becoming a good player. That means stepping up and gaining consistency.
thats the sad part... batum is the only guy with a chance to get better. rudy, bayless and webster sre what they are
I have to agree on this one. Batum and Dante are the only two young players in the lineup that are actually playing consistent and showing nice upside. Rudy, Bayless and Webster will always be frustrating, middle-of-the-road players. You can't build a contender having to give those guys extended minutes.
