Forrest over Shogun was mind boggling to me. I mean sure Pride struggled in the Octagon, but good golly, Shogun Tore right through all of Pride's best 205'ers, including Rampage to win the grand prix. This domination by Forrest was insane! Serra catching GSP on the button and making him wobble all over the place is a close second, then Gomi being subbed by diaz.
PRIDE didn't test for performance enhancers (steroids, HGH, etc.) because they claimed they didn't think it had any effect on the fights. I'm not saying Shogun juiced, but he wasn't the same fighter in terms of strength, stamina, or physique when he fought Forrest. He looked just like his brother when he got tooled by Lawler. Makes you wonder why guys like Anderson Silva and Rampage are succeeding (they fought for other promotions between their time in PRIDE and the UFC) and the direct jump guys like Mirko, Herring, Shogun, Wandy, and Soku have failed so far. Hell--even Big Nog almost got knocked out in his first fight in the UFC, and he's never been KO'd.
