Great game on the 46" HDTV as I watch the Blazers on a 4"x4" pirated PC window.

2-1 El Salvador in the 78th minute.

Ended in a tie, which is basically a win on the road in qualifying.

You know, I could give a damn about most soccer, but there's something about international games between countries' teams that draw me in as a rabid fan. The way that both sides lay everything on the line, and the fan atmosphere at these games that rival anything a college rivalry game could offer. Those El Salvadorian fans were nuts, and they were into the game from the opening kick to the end whistle. I'm so looking forward to next year's World Cup.

I hate the World Cup....at least in the US it seems like the nerdiest, most hipster doofuses watch that shit because it makes them cultured.

I enjoy the passion in the rest of the world about soccer..but really without hooligans, it ain't no fun. US Fans = weak sauce.

Wow. Some real pent-up anger there. I guess they don't like soccer in Sarah Palin's "Real America".

What if there was some kind of Soccer/NASCAR tie-in? Would that bring the Rednecks with their shootin' irons? I would think they would qualify as "hooligans".

This is in LA. Just what I experience when World Cup season rolls along, all the little nerdy hipsters who don't watch any other sports at all start going off about it. They take over the small little bars and restaurants and pretend they're part of something when its more about being ironic than anything.

see, those guys are cool and I'm down with. I'm talking about the starbucks-type crowd who gets all into soccer when World Cup rolls around...very calmly watching the games while drinking wine and being smug.
