Team captain Nevio Pizzolitto scored on a late penalty as the Montreal Impact salvaged a 1-1 tie with the Portland Timbers in their USSF Second Division home opener Sunday.

Playing in front of a sellout crowd of 13,034 fans, Pizzolitto earned his team a point in the standings when he scored with a low shot to the right of Timbers goalkeeper Steve Cronin in the 81st minute.
