Cozumel diving is awesome. And they don't care about regulations, which is even more awesome. 80 feet on your first dive is nuts. Tanzania was epicness. Great food, great safari, bad malaria and food-poisoning Nope. He actually just placed it ontop of the van At GMJ, I'm still waiting for pictures.
well, diving isn't regulated here in the US either, but there are more stringent standards, partially for fear of a lawsuit if anything goes wrong. In some of those out-of-the way places, they advise you not to surface until you have 300-500 lbs of pressure left in the tank, which is way too little. You have to watch out for yourself. A couple of times my air has gotten very low--including one of my first dives, where I also went down to about 80 feet--and I was nauseous for about the next 24 hours. Wasn't the crater cool?
