It seems that Coach Van Gundy's "back to Jesus" talk with Nachbar during the Sacramento Kings game actually worked. Van Gundy seemed as if he wanted to kill Nachbar for passing up a wide open jump shot, opting to take the ball to the paint, where he got ripped. Van Gundy's exact words to Nachbar were, "If you pass up another open shot, I'm going to put you on the bench!" Nachbar nodded in agreement then walked back on the court while JVG and the rest of the coaching staff wondered if JVG's words would actually sink into the 6-9 Slovenian forward. Jeff's words actually hit home on Nachbar as he went four of five in the fourth quarter, scoring 11 of his 15 points in the final 12 minutes, knocking down three 3-pointers and throwing down a driving dunk. The result of Nachbar's play was an 88-72 victory over the Kings. This win brought some much needed confidence to not only to the entire Rockets team, but Nachbar in general. Prior to the game, Nachbar had been shooting 31.1 percent from the floor, making only 14 of 45 shots. His shooting from the 3-point line was particularly brutal -- 2-of-15, or 13.3 percent. Lets hope Van Gundy's words hit a home run with Nachbar. We really need him to shoot when he gets open looks.
I can never understand why it takes international players (Welsch, Nachbar, Weis) so long to develope in the NBA when they can put up thirty a night in Europe. Anyway, I am glad for the Rockets and Nachbar.

In the NBA, not only do these European players play against the best players in the world, but they actually play against players that can play defense.
