I'd feel a lot better about the guard situation with a veteran presence on the line. As an aside, why has Ted Thompson completely written off Grady Jackson? It's not a question of offering him not enough money...he's not making ANY attempt to re-sign him. Jackson had a solid year last year with no injury problems. With all of the underachievers the Packers have on the D-Line, I'm surprised that they haven't made the slightest attempt. Then again, I haven't seen ANY team take an interest in Jackson this off season. I wonder why?
Grady went in for a Workout at St.Louis and was reported to weigh 385 Pounds! Thats the main reason he's incredibly out of shape, He'll be picked up either Mid season by somebody or shortly after the Pre season. Verba most likely will not be signed, for the same reason Joey porter will most likely not be acquired by Trade, Attitude. Come on this is the same Verba that used to pick fights with Mike Holmgren constantly! Definatly doesn't fit McCarthy's new title of "Packer People". That aside Verba was pretty talented for awhile but He woulden't play gaurd back then, so why would he play Gaurd now?

The guy's been saying for years that he wants "Elite DT Money" like Ted Washington and some of the other hogs are getting. He finally gets his chance in free agency and all he has to do is stay in shape to cash in and what does he do? He loads up on pork rinds... Classic.
