With the clock running down, Kris Versteeg lost the puck near the goal and somehow got it back, thanks to the work of his teammates. Given a second chance, he responded. Versteeg ripped a shot from the left circle that went past Vancouver goalie Roberto Luongo with just 1:30 left Monday night, sending the Chicago Blackhawks to a 4-2 victory over the Canucks and tying the Western Conference semifinal series at 1-1. “I got pumped and lost the puck ‘Oh my goodness what did I just do?”’ Versteeg said. “Fortunately I got the puck back. I was just trying to shoot as hard as I could.” After Versteeg lost control momentarily, Dave Bolland dug the puck out and slid it to Brent Seabrook, who passed it to Duncan Keith at the point. Keith then moved it to Versteeg, and his first goal of this year’s playoffs put the Blackhawks up 3-2 and sent the United Center crowd into a frenzy. “There were a bunch of guys around me. When Duncs got the puck, he was going to pass, but every Canuck started looking at Duncs and lost Steeger. So he gave it back to Steeger, he waited a bit and throw it in the puck. I was pumped, the UC was pumped, and I heard that U.S. Cellular Field (Chicago White Sox's Stadium) was pumped. I had friends there watching that game, and I keep telling them what was happening at the UC. The game turner imo was not Steegers goal. The shorthander by Sharpy was. Which, Steeger was apart of might I add.
