He became part of the starting lineup at right guard and stayed there the next eight seasons, earning two Pro Bowl selections and appearing in 10 playoff games and two Super Bowls for the Rams.Timmerman had a streak of 204 consecutive games, including the playoffs, since his rookie season in 1995 with the Packers. However, he missed the Rams' last three games last season due to cracked ribs.The Rams brought in a young offensive line that included Richie Incognito at Timmerman's right guard spot. Article doesn't mention his salary numbers, but I'd be willing to bet he wouldn't be worth whatever it was he was making. A young Offensive Line isn't the end of the world as long as they're talented. Plus, you never know they might bring someone in either through FA or the draft.
I'm more excited than disappointed about it being a young o-line. All have talent and a lot of potential. I'm sure we'll at least bring in one guard to compete with Terrell (missed all of last season with an injury) and Setterstrom (7th round pick last year but did work his way into the starting lineup.. that does have some to do with injuries though).
