Vick Faces Complaints From Department Of Labor

Jailed NFL star quarterback Michael Vick is in trouble again.

He’s the subject of multiple complaints filed by the Department of Labor in federal district and bankruptcy courts, according to the Associated Press.

Vick, who’s serving a 23-month sentence in federal custody on dogfighting charges, has been accused of illegally withdrawing over $1.3 million from a pension plan.

According to the complaint, Vick repeatedly made illegal transfers from a pension plan sponsored by a celebrity marketing company he owns called MV7. Vick allegedly, “violated his duties as trustee of a pension plan,” for nine current or former employees.

Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis issued this statement: “This action sends a message that the Labor Department will not tolerate the misuse of plan money and will take whatever steps necessary to recover the assets owed to eligible workers.”

Meanwhile, Vick has been ordered to testify in person at a bankruptcy hearing next week in Newport News, Va., by the judge overseeing the case.
