J Stevens (Seattle TE) virtually guaranteed a victory. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs05/n...tory?id=2315169 I don?t know what Porter?s problem is. My 2 initial thoughts are; 1) Like Porter is the only one who can make ridiculous remarks to the media 2) What does it matter he (Porter) already believes its us (Steelers) against the world so why should it matter? Then, I realize Porter is just another idiot from Colorado State.
I remember Chad Johnson guarenteed something like that in the regular season that he would be in the Super Bowl. I think the same thing will happen again, they lose to the Steelers.
Jeremy Stevens?s actual quote: "I think that ah, I know that we'll win because I think we have too many weapons." Is there a player on either side who doesn't think his team will win? I think this is a little short of guaranteeing victory. I don't have the actual quote, but Stevens went on to say something to the effect of Bettis has had a good career and it's too bad he won't be leaving Detroit with a ring/one for the thumb. That is probably what Porter was reacting too. Porter needs to worry more about Walter Jones. If he goes out looking for Stevens the Seahawks will roll the Steelers.
people love bringing this "Gaurantee Victory" angle into games, obviously they think they will win. The media asks question that result in people say they think they will win...thus we have a lot of gaurantees about winning
