I can't believe HCP hasn't thought to make a thread for all of us nerdy virgin types dedicated to talking video games Speaking of which, what games are you guys interested in for the rest of the year? Also Wii U, yay, nay?
Black Ops 2 looks great. I haven't played any games in months and last week I played some MW3 and Black Ops -- IMO Black Ops >>>> MW3.
I'm not a gamer, but a co-worker of mine a few years ago basically lived and breathed games. All he'd talk about at work was how he'd go home, open a bottle of wine and play videos games until he fell asleep. And his weekends were mostly video games. The guy was in his late 20's, and quite a loser (he was a loser for a variety of reasons, the video gaming aspect of his characteristics was just the tip of the ice berg). I mean, I get playing games. I even get playing games a lot, but when your goal in life is to play video games all day (and not because you're testing them/making them), you are a loser.
Are you getting it on the PC? I might pick it up for it simply because i haven't played a COD in a about 2 years and want to try it on that platform.
That's why i don't understand the fascination with MMO's like World of Warcraft, people will sink 20 hours a day into that game, i'm hard pressed to play more than an hour at a time.
just the mere thought of playing video games all day makes me feel depressed. It's similar to how I hate sick days from work. If I try to watch TV (while I'm horking) I get depressed. Not just because the shows on TV during the day melt the brain, but...well, no that's exactly why. But the idea of video gaming for long stretches...just kill me now. And then to brag about it, when you're not a teenager? It was no real surprise to any of us that he was single and unliked by pretty much all buy 1 of my other co-workers.
On a side note, the other day I decided to sit down and watch "transformers" (the cartoon). I liked it when I was a kid, but really haven't watched it since I was probably 9 or 10. It was probably the most difficult 30 minutes of my life.
HERE WE GO! The title of this thread should be....... Can't wait to have sex with a chic I don't have to inflate...... or........ Mom, I told you I'd be right up!!!!
I only play video games when I'm drunk or high, and it's either Madden, 2k, or FIFA. Yeah, that's how cool I am.
The thing I can't wrap my head around is professional gamers. There are dudes who play Starcraft 2 who pull in six figures from people watching their live streams and competing in tournaments. I've played SC2 and that game requires way too much strategy to be the best at it. My hats off to the guys who can make that kind of money playing a video game though.
...I don't know much about video games these days, but I saw a commercial for Assassin's Creed 3 and it looked pretty incredible
Is professional sports any different? I bet they can't wrap their collective heads around the fact that these athletic freaks can be adored the world over and make hundreds of millions for putting a ball into a metal hole.
It's not different at all... except one is a simple game that only requires a ball and two hoops. The other is a piece of software developed by a third party which requires expensive equipment, which can create an advantage if you have a better PC. Obviously it's all about what people are willing to pay to watch. If someone is willing to fork over money to watch a stream of two guys playing a video game together, more power to them. I personally can't understand why it is fun for some people to watch others play. With a sports team, there is a sense of ownership. The Portland Trail Blazers. The Oregon Ducks. Watching gamers is more like watching boxing, which I've never been a huge fan of.
You didnt put "Official" in the thread title. FAIL. There are several threads about video games here in the OT section.
