Looks like the times they are a changin. Who would of thought other the Chicago the NFC North becoming a defensive division. I'm thinkin Brad Johnson might be suited perfect for your Vikes team.
I thought Tank Johnson was a DT w/ da Bears. Dwight Smith played FS when he was named Super Bowl MVP so I'd imagine thats what he'll play. I think the Saints had Dwight playing SS.

They have Darren Sharper, Tank Johnson, and Dwight Smith now. One of them has to be forced to CB. Dwight Smith is only like 26 or 27
I doubt either of those 3 can play corner, besides the Vikes already have Fred Smoot, and Antione Winfield at corner.
I gotta say, its quite funny to see this thread being discussed by NFC North fans, but no Vikings fans. - Dwight Smith and Tank Williams will compete for the strong safety spot. The loser will come in during nickle situations. Childress has said many times that he'd like to have a lot of competition at every position - it looks like the safety position could be really strong for us this year. - BF1 - 27 is past your prime? I guess Urlacher is past his prime now at the ripe age of 28. - Smith is actually a converted corner, so he can play corner if need be. Will he be as good as a starter? Probably not. I'm stoked about this signing. The Vikings secondary now has Winfield, Smoot, Offord (better than people think), Sharper, Tank Williams, and Dwight Smith. That's a fantastic secondary.
Damn, I was hoping the Ravens were going to sign him. They finally showed some interest in him but that was after he made his visit to the Vikings and eventually signed. Whatever, at least it adds depth to the roster and possibly a fight for the safety position.

Ahh...I see. Let me ask you this, then. Is Mike Brown past his prime? He seems to meet all the criteria for you - pretty much the same stats as Smith, but one year older. If so, is it safe to say that the Bears will be fielding a defensive team with a hole at safety?

Will smith as his best be better than brown at his worst, maybe, but probably not.
How do you figure? I'm curious as Brown is older (by one year) and had almost identical stats. You would think that on a team like the Bears he would actually have better stats...

He was a great pick in round 2 in my opinion and a perfect fit for a cover 2 corner.
There will be room for Smith as Sharper never got hurt last year so there's no way he makes it 2 years in a row. I will admit Darren proved people wrong when they figured he was past his prime
Yeah Sharper had a Mouth on him, but he backed it up most of the time, he gave up some plays but he sure as hell made up for them with Game Changing ones.
