The Minnesota Vikings are one of a few teams that have had trade discussions with the Washington Redskins about quarterback Donovan McNabb, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

One of the issues with McNabb is working out a restructured contract. The Vikings cannot make a deal with the Redskins if they don't have a deal with McNabb.

The Vikings' quarterback situation is unsettled with the retirement of Brett Favre. Backup Tarvaris Jackson is a free agent and won't return. Minnesota drafted quarterback Christian Ponder with the 12th overall pick in the 2011 draft and unproven Joe Webb also is on the roster.
