Who are the Vikings going to have kicking for them this year? Do you think they'll pick up someone like Doug Brien (recently waived by the Jets)? Or will they look at undrafted free agents?
There are rumors about Paul Edinger...I think they'll hold out for him, but take Brien if they can't get anyone better.

I dont think the bears are going to release him, and when vikes tried to get him before bears matched offer sheet.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (vikingfan)</div><div class='quotemain'>All I've heard is that the Bears put him on the trading block...</div> I dont think they will trade in division
No, probably not. However, if they are not able to trade him, what do you think of the possibility of just releasing him? After all, it would make more sense to trade someone if you think someone would bite rather than just release them.
Thats true. Besides no matter how accurate a Vikings kicker is during regular season, they are bound to miss any important kicks in NFC title game.
Edinger would be a nice fit for the Vikes. Remember, there is no Lake Michigan wind to battle up here, cuz we have a Dome.

Only problem is the only time any tough player plays there is when a visiting team shows up
The Vikings signed Paul Edinger today... Vikings agree to terms with K Edinger EDEN PRAIRIE, Minnesota - Two years later, the Minnesota Vikings got their man. The Vikings on Tuesday agreed to terms with veteran kicker Paul Edinger. Terms were not disclosed. The move comes two years after the Chicago Bears matched a five-year, $7 million offer sheet that the Vikings made to Edinger. But nothing was standing in the Vikings' way this time after the Bears released Edinger on Sunday. Edinger was scheduled to make $1.1 million this season and had asked for his release. Edinger ranked third in Bears history with 110 field goals. He led the NFL with 53 field goals of 40 or more yards during his five-year career. Last season, Edinger made just 15-of-24 field goals. In Minnesota, Edinger will replace future Hall of Famer Morten Andersen, who made 18-of-22 field goals last season but lacked distance.

I can already read the headlines " EDINGER has best year of his career and does not miss a field goal or better yet EDINGER beats BEARS for division with last second field goal". Oh boy, what next? I guess McQUARTERS is headed to the PACKERS! :x
