Victor Khryapa of CSKA Moscow is the winner of the RealGM Euroleague MVP award for the 2012-13 season. The 30-year-old forward has improved all of his main statistical numbers this season, averaging 10 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Khryapa has also helped his team, which holds a 23-5 record this season, to defeat Caja Laboral Vitoria in the playoffs to reach the Final Four.

We saw how good he was against NBA competition. Or maybe NBA competition looked better because it played against Viktor.

In any case, I really have my fingers crossed about Mirotic, but isn't he playing against the same guys Viktor is? The competition makes Viktor an MVP!

I share your concerns. This was the first idea that popped into my head when I read this news.

I feel confident that Mirotic is going to be pretty good. However, Boozer and Taj are also at least pretty good. If the 2014 plan is trading Boozer for Mirotic.....are we really going to take a step forward?

Even if Mirotic is as good as proclaimed, it's not a guarantee he'll acclimate himself to the NBA right away. It could take a season or two to find his stride. At that point Derrick will be heading into the final year of his contract......

My cautiously optimistic expectation is that Mirotic will enter the NBA as a Danilo Gallinari type player, and Taj/Mirotic will be a more dynamic fit than Boozer. I've always been a Booze guy, but he's not the best fit on this team due to his plodding style of play.

    Rose
    Jimmy
    Deng
    Taj/Mirotic
    Noah

with some bench shooting is a pretty good team.
