It's hopefully not the old Vin Baker, either.

It may, however, be of the Celtics' new starting power forward - a player who, once Jim O'Brien reconfigures his rotation for the season-opener at the FleetCenter on Oct. 29 against Miami, could figure into a more prominent role than anyone imagined. </div>

It's a scary thought that a player who most suspected would be on the IL is going to be their starter on opening night.

I was very impressed with Baker's play last Friday against the Nets. He could be reborn again.

Vin Baker started tonight against the T'Wlves. He played 25mins, shot 4-6 FG to give him 8 PTS, grabbed 11 RB, 2 AST, 1 STL, and 1 TO. Very impressive!

Yeah I think he just might me back and if he is the trade with Dallas will really help as it allows him to play his natural position at the 4 while Raef plays the 5. With Battie and McCarty as their backups. This frontline is they perform to potential could be very tough in the east.

If Baker does not pan out they would go Battie, LaFrentz,Williams,Pierce & Banks.

Might I say Banks is the player other then Baker whom the Celtics season rides on with last years points of Bremer and Delk gone and there wannabe point forward walker gone they need him to lead them a tough ask for any rookie

Yes Im starting to think this might nto be so disastrous either. Baker and Kedrick Brown look like theyre ready to bust out. Raef at the very least will block some shots. Pierce might actually end up better cause of this trade than worse. Now everyone around him CAN score ecxept maybe the point guards. If theyre running down the court, defenses will have to worry about their own man and wont be able constantly double and tripple team Pierce or he'll fnid the open man like he did last year. As he showed last night, Pierce can take over a game without scoring

Let's just hope that if Vinny performs well, he won't celebrate with a bottle of champagne.
