<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The same thing you've been thinking about Vince Carter in the first two games of this series is the same thing he's thought about himself. "I think I'm playing like crap," Carter said after Thursday's Nets practice. "I think I can play better. That's my goal. I'm going to come out and play a lot better for my team." Carter's not the only one who needs to play better when this series resumes with Game 3 on Saturday evening for the Nets to get back in this Eastern Conference semifinal. Down 0-2 to Cleveland, the Nets need to show some toughness inside to limit the Cavaliers' dominance on the boards. Cleveland grabbed 31 more rebounds, and 27 on the offensive glass, than the Nets in the first two games. But Carter offered a refreshingly candid opinion of himself after this best-of-seven's first two games. It's not just Carter's shooting, although he is 17-for-49 and has settled for too many jumpers. He hasn't made big plays down the stretch the way LeBron James has, and his defense on Sasha Pavlovic has been a problem. The Cavaliers' largely unknown shooting guard is averaging 16 points in the first two games, seven more than the regular season. "I know I can play better," Carter said. "In my mind, it's up to me to give the team a little more on both ends."</div> Source: North Jersey I hope he means it.
