HoopsHype.com has links to the Toronto Sun. (registration required)

The gist of it is that a source has told the Toronto Sun that the Vince/Jalen trade will go down in the next 10 days.

The teams that will be invovled are:

Portland (team with the most talks)
Knicks
Sixers
Grizzlies
and ...*shudder* Hornets. (I would hate to see Vince there...prove me wrong Vince)

Excited anyone? Hopefully Portland will get Carter [IMG]

You know I'd have to say I was impressed by Vince's play tonight, he played well on offense, had a great defensive game, took a charge etc, and for a guy that basically knows he's going to get traded I was surprised to see him doing that. You could say he's trying to sell himself, but taking the charges, working hard, that's more than that.

I think many people have been dissapointed that he hasn't brought it on a consitent basis this season because if he has we'd be at least at .500 or higher.

I think when he get's traded he'll go back to being about a 22-5-5 player because the reason for his fall in production has also been how our offense runs, and him not getting as many minutes.

The big thing though is that after Vince is gone, many people will lose their scapegoat to put the Raptors shortcomings on. Vince has been a problem at times, but hasn't been our biggest problem, but fans and media alike just needed someone to put everything on.
When Vince is traded, I think we'll have a little win streak because it seems to happen everytime a trade goes down, but after that we'll go back to having the same problems of no rebounding, no interior defense etc, and this time we'll have no one to bail us out.

Right now as it looks we aren't getting anyone that can solve our interoir defense and rebounding problems, they'll still be there, we'll see how things happen, but when their's no one to blame, what will everyone do?

I think Portland is the closest we're getting to an acceptable deal right now, NOH could be right in the mix, but we'll see.

Yeah...Vince will get a lot of boos when he comes back to Toronto if he gets traded. Even in 2000 after the sweep with the Knicks he got blamed. Hes THE franchise player so he will take the blame. And he can handle it...I would say it probably motivates him.

I agree about him returning to 22, 5 and 5. I bet he might even get better. Hopefully he see this as a new start. And with a new start comes proving all the doubters wrong and making a name for himself again. Vince would look might awesome in a Blazers uniform. I am praying that he will be in Portland.

But...what I'm talking about is the voting, and who'll end up in the starting five. We're loaded at the four, and now McGrady is in the West...with Baron Davis, Nash, and Chucky Atkins at the point (jk guys). It's insane.

We can trade Milt also which will make it a real hard decision at the PG spot, Milt is already a top player in the league, and is only in his what, 4th or 5th year?

I think if we traded Vince, Roger Mason and Milt the competition would really heat up, and in the East, Lebron and all those other cats will have to watch out for Derek Anderson beating them for the starting spot.

Toironto star has had sources, and none of the rumours are really big news.

Similar to what Og15 said, Our - rather the media and general populartion's - scapegoat is gone. But, if Vince beigns to produce, then the Raptors fans will just bash Carter, which IIMO, shouldn't happen, at all.

I still believe if Vince isn't traded, he can still perform for the Raptors, but something else has to change. When the trade goes down(which seems almost certian with many sources "confirming" it[unless it's one person] and Jalen feeling something), I just hope our team is better.

According to SI

Rumors persist that the Hornets are also willing to part with moody center Jamaal Magloire, who will be out another 11 weeks. And Baron Davis already is on the shelf and on the block. Bristow also should add another player to trade talks -- P.J. Brown. Brown is still respected as one of the league's best defenders down low, and contending teams wouldn't be opposed to overpaying for a needed interior presence.

Getting Magloire now would be easier than ever, because of his injury, so we could probably get another player with him.

i would LOVE to see vince in new orleans. i mean it would lead to better sleep at nights for me if he ended up there. on the leagues worst team where there really arent many fans turning up to games would be just the kind of justice he deserves. then and only then would he realize just how good he had it in toronto and it might just serve as a bit of a reality check

What you dont realize though is Vince will draw in fans, so the Hornets will still lose, He will get them a fan base.

werd^ but if you wanted to see him suffer on how easygoing toronto was, then we should send him to the Knicks, but they have nothing to offer us

Why would you send him to a division rival?

I'm telling you, if Philly is offering Dalembert (along with other players obviously), we can't miss that oppurtunity. He can get 10, 10, and 2 blocks if he got the minutes. He is a good young defender that will help with the Raptors weak Interior D.
