I just saw a Canadian sports channel report that Vince Carter has requested a trade. What do you guys think?

Source? I've watched three different stations in the past week, and looked at articles and it said nothing of the sort. This is old news isn't it?

NOOOO!!! Well if we do trade him we need something good in return. Man whats up with people. No more Loyalty anymore. But oh well..who do you think we can trade him for?? Heres the report on the net http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1832996

But i really want to hear it from Vince's lips himself. I hope its not true!

"He's a marquee player, and he puts fans in the seats," Babcock said. "The only way we trade him is if we get something similar back."

That says it, unless we get a good deal he isn't going anywhere. The only thing I wish from Vince is just to shut up and play, if he doesn't like the direction of the team he should take it as his responsibility to change it.

^ Yeah i agree man. He should take the responsibilty to change it. But i'm still waiting for confirmation. Sources can be wrong too and if hes right..who do yout think we should trade him for? Ray Allen? Allen Iverson?

It states that he doesn't like the direction the team is going. I actually like it a lot. He's probably specifically upset by the draft pick, while the staff selections are not controversial and stupid. It looks like Vince is all talk and no walk. He's had a history of doing that. He said he would have a magnificent 2002 and 2003 season, guess not. He said he would want to be a Raptor for life, guess not. His mom even said that he can talk the talk, but he should also walk the walk.
There were so many rumors about this, but now it seems like it's apparently true, and the internet's most reliable sports site, ESPN, is saying this. He better stay, or he's going to be known as a sorry mofo forever rather than a dunking machine.

I just saw the headline on my BottomLine. If the report is true, Vince Carter is truley a whiner. He's upset about our draft pick. Who else does he expect us to pick? Iggy? Luke Jackson? Josh/JR Smith. Unless he wants to share time and help them develop (Smiths) then he has a right to be angry. They drafted a guy that makes the team better. It gives him space to drive. Rafael cleans up the lane with his size and bulk, and he sees that as a negative? Give me a break. The team has gone downwards the past 3 seasons. He could have a good reason to demand a trade had he played over 2 thirds of the game. But he hasn't. He gets paid a bulk of money. This team is heading somewhere now with a new look (Bosh, Rafael, Sam Mitchell, Babcock) to go with their marquee players, and are about to make a run at the playoffs, when he asks for a trade.

if he leaves, raptors can forget playoffs... like many players who left toronto improved with their new team, vince will most likley become the player he was with his new team if he leaves.

damn what am i going to do with my raptors jersey, hope foot locker gives refound [IMG]

If VC leaves ill wear a Kobe jersey (I hate Kobe). It'll just be another TMac, Antonio Davis move. Didn't he question Antonio's loyalty to the team and getting it back on track. I didn't see this article or know if it's true, but it sounds like bs.

i guess he really is a cousin of tmac, hahaha a family of whiners. anyway, he said the same thing about the draft lastyear like he'd rather trade the pick for a vet.

Actaully I do and don't (much more do than don't) blame him, he should suck it up an not be a baby, if he feels the team isn't going in the right direction then he should change it by how he plays.

It seems like they're saying our draft pick is the main culprit in his decision, and I think that's stupid, looking at it from every angle, it wasn't the greatest pick, but he will help the team and be decent for us if he produces.

Paul Peirce is a money player. He would be a downgrade of athleticism, but an upgrade of heart, leadership, shooting, defence (even though Paul is not the best defender). But I would rather have a commited VC on this team.
I could stand Pierce on this team though. Jalen Rose, Murray/Peterson, Picks.... for Paul. VC and Paul combo looks good to me.
