I'm pointing this out because their stats this year are absolutely identical. 1167 yards receiving 77.8 yards/game 9 touchdowns in 15 games, for both of them. Check their profiles if you don't believe me. That being said, if given the option, who would you pick to have on your team? Keep the special teams out of the equation, because DJax clearly trumps Vincent Jackson in that category. Just receiving wise, who would you rather have your QB throwing the ball to? They're two very different players, so I guess it goes by your preference.
I think Vincent is definitely the more well rounded receiver. He is a deep threat as well as a possession receiver. He's also much bigger than DeSean. If I was building a team, it depends what I'm looking for. I think Desean is the better deep threat, but that is it. His speed is nice, but I want to see some longevity from him with his frail frame. I don't know much about him over the middle, how does he do there, Lost One? I know Vincent can take a hit and is a threat all over the field, not just the long ball. If I'm building a well rounded team, give me Vincent. If I want a team to air it out all day, give me Desean.
Since I can't include special teams, I'll take Vincent for the reasons Mamba listed. If we could include ST, than Desean in a heartbeat.
I picked Desean Jackson because I'm a homer. But I can definitely see why Vincent may be the option receiving wise. He's a big target and a more traditional receiver, so to speak. I can't say I know too much about him though, because I rarely see him play, but when I do watch him, or when I see Charger highlights, it seems like he is a very impressive force on offense. And Mamba, Jackson doesn't go over the middle too much, but when he does he is usually successful. For a guy his size, I'm surprised at his toughness, he's had his fair share of big hits, but he seems to come out of it okay. I do agree that his durability may be an issue in the future, but it hasn't been a problem for us at all so far, besides his one concussion. I hope he holds up, the reason why he fell to us in the draft was because of durability concerns. Prove them wrong!
I don't like traditional players. I like rare, unique guys. Thats why I picked Desean. Rare > Traditional
I like both, but Vincent Jackson's size isn't enough to trump Desean Jackson's HR abilities. And if we included returning abilities (which we should), i'd take Desean easy.
DeSean Jackson. I'm including special teams anyways. I think its stupid to not evaluate everything a player could bring to your team. It's like evaluating two QB's and ignoring one's obvious superiority in running the ball. If we're talking strictly about WR'ing, I think Vincent Jackson's better. That kind of size and physicality just makes a QB's job so much easier and it wears down opposing corners over the course of a game. But it's not enough of an advantage to outweigh how dangerous DeSean is as a returner. The dude should be recognized as more than just a deep threat, as well.
nail polish essie’s top coat was really glossy and seemed to dry my nails in seconds. What’s more is that this combination gave me an average of 8 days before any chips surfaced! I was delighted with the results. All in all I really loved using these Essie products but the prices were slightly steeper for me.
