Here's some Vintage MLB Programs, and Other stuff I collected as a Kid. SF Giants Program, and Score Card, with obtained Autographs, and a poor quality McCovey Pic..... incl; pages of League leaders.... Oakland A's Scorecard: Note the icon thumb nail pics. Note: Joe DiMaggio as the Bench Coach....... Bums program, note the Vegas Ads, I do not believe MLB allows this type of Advertisements these days. Johnny Unitas, My 1st Autograph in Baltimore, on My B'Day in 64. My Dad had a short word with Shula prior to the game, during workouts, asking Shula if He could send Johnny U over to say Hi, then some, one of the best B'days ever..... GB Packers, 1968 Team Photo Postcard, sent directly from the Packers Front Office, to a young Fan.
The McCovey Pic is not that good of quality. Camera's stunk in those days. We were sitting 1st row, field level, which allowed me to climb atop the Giants dugout, to obtain the autographs shown in the Scorecard. Note: the Program is from Candlestick, the Scorecard was a ST/Exhibition Game b/t the Giants and Indians. Shreveport tho' named the Braves, were the triple AAA home of the Giants at that time.....
More to follow to finish this, I've got to run Kim and myself to a Dr's. Appt., and will finish later tonight... Cheers- Rob Note: when I put up the Bums Program, note I've scanned 2 of 3 Vegas Casino Ads in the program, not something we'd ever see today, as well as no kid can climb out on a dugout, and obtain autographs, with no Security scolding me back or telling me to get down/off. Tho' there was a group of Security stopping the 30+ other kids trying to do the same thing. The benefit of having front row field level seats........ Auvoir Mon Ami's
The Pleasure is all mine. Here's a Bums Program, for a game in Chavez Ravine, vs the SF Giants..... Note: the Ads for Casino's, something we won't ever see again....
1st Autograph ever of Johnny Unitas, 1964 Sept. 20th...... 1968 Green Bay Packers Team Photo-courtesy of the Packer's org, I wrote to as a kid, to obtain this over sized post card....
Honestly I think trading Bonds for Murcer totally screwed up his career, had he stayed a Giants he was on his way to the HOF. I hated that trade.
I felt the same. Bonds was at his best in the OF with Mays. Tho' Bobby never lived up to his hype, he was a good fit in SF, only, IMO. I was at the game, way back when Bonds and Mays collided up against the fence. The crowd went silent, until Mays stood up, shook it off, then began to Boo Bonds, when he stood up. A bit over the top, just to reveal how Frisco Fans in those days, loved Mays, Marichal, McCovey, Cepeda. No newbie fks with those Giant Giants......Pillars of the Game...
Speaking of Cepeda that was another bad trade for the Giants, for RAY SEDAKI Seriously. I believe the Giants WS would have come a lot sooner had the kept the trio of Mays (CF), McCovey (LF) & Cepeda (1B) together.
SF Giants/LA Dodgers = carpetbaggers The "Bums" died when they moved from Brooklyn and the SF Giants were skumbag accomplices......IMHO...(of course). Dodgers are now nothing more than just another left west coast team which has done VERY LITTLE in the last few decades and the SF Giants have recently found more success than they have had since 1951 and hopefully will not see another WS appearance for many years to come. This my opinion.
