A couple of times now my virus checker has stopped the main S2 Blazers page from loading due to reporting the presence of a Trojan virus JS/Redirector.CI. I understand that this is a Javascript virus that can redirect you to other pages. I'm using Windows XP, IE8, & Windows Live Onecare. Anybody else having issues with this?
I had that issue but i'm not sure where it was from. Upgrade your internet browser or download a script blocker
My McAfee has been complaining for a couple of days that the detection signature file is a few days too old, but I'm ignoring it till a better update comes out than the latest one, which disabled hundreds of thousands of computers on Wednesday--maybe including yours. http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/04/22/cnet.mcafee.antivirus.bug/ I'd wait a few days till they patch their update before updating from McAfee right now.
S2's server could, in theory, become infected with some virus, but I see no indication whatsoever that this is true. It would take a hacker to hack into the system and put malicious javascript in the pages being served. I've looked at the pages being served and there are three sources for any javascripts: s2, google, and yahoo. I don't see that any of those are hacked or that there are any unexpected scripts being served. After reading up on the virus you mentioned, you got it through an email attachment.
I do think you could have accessed a trojan from this site a few days ago... but most likely it was through an ad. kav4%20[1].htm Generic Downloader.o (Trojan) Most likely it was something that was looking for specific OS version and browser version to exploit so even unprotected it prolly wasn't an issue.
