So the Franklin/Ortiz and Henderson/Belfort rumours might just be done for.

Belfort has reportedly signed with a Brazilian promotion to compete on one of their shows in September.

Pretty good card if it materializes.

That is a very solid main card. Very watchable. Better than any EliteXC card, and they were on mainstream TV.

I'm really surprized though. The UFC clearly wanted Belfort, unless Dana said we are backlogged at MW for title shots, come back in 6 months lol. (Winner of Marquardt/Maia, Hendo and Okami all really deserve title shots ahead of Belfort)

Okami has been out for so long, why does he deserve a shot? When was the last time he fought?

Okami is 7-1 in the UFC, and 9-1 in his last 10 fights. His only loss was to top competition (Rich Franklin, and it was a decision).

He has beaten Belcher, Starnes (managed to catch and finish him!), Swick, MacDonald, Tanner, Lister.

Belfort has gone 6-4 in his last 10. His wins except for Lindland were mainly against lesser quality than Okami's.

His losses though were against very legit quality competition. So even if we ignore his losses.

Okami's last 9 wins are easily ahead of Belfort's last 6.

I'm not pulling shit out of my ass, I'd love to see Belfort- Anderson, but Okami easily is more deserving than Belfort at this point. and Okami was lined up for a title shot at one point but got injured and Cote replaced him.

I never said you were pulling shit out of your ass.

He's just been out for so long, I don't think he deserves another shot right away. He needs to get a win or two before getting Silva. While he was idle, others made some moves.
