The NBA is expected to announce the eight participants next week. In other news, Ray is unlikely for Charlotte this weekend, and 50/50 for New Orleans on Tuesday.
Some players have a problem with the shootout because they need to be in the flow of the game or have a hand in thier face. Peja and Vlad in the finals. Should be close.
Ray Allen in the shootout too, so there is a fairly good chance of the trophy coming back to Seattle. Other participants are Q Richardson, Joe Johnson, Ugly Korver and Voshon Lenard,
My money is on Vo' Leonard. Ray elevates too high on his shot and will wear down by the final racks. Vlad seems to shoot better when he steps into his shots, and you can't really do that in the 3 pt contest. Plus it's his first go around. To be honest I think that the winner would be Fred Hoiberg if he were ever invited. Gilbert Arenas would probably do well in this event too.
Interesting you say that Shiek, as there was a Wolves fan in another thread that was annoyed Hoiberg was snubbed. He leads the league at 50%, but has only taken 88 shots (obviously because of his role and limited minutes). I think Ray will do just fine though, he's won the event before so it's obviously not a huge problem.
