I do not think Scoot makes us a contender, but I’m willing to see if he tries to play defense and get others involved.

Blazers need another solid 3 & D player.
Preferably one that is 6-9 or taller.

5 years is nothing in the NBA....The machine is more powerful then ever now and small market teams must be aggressive in finding ways to keep players they develop. Consistent winning and playoffs are just a couple, along with the bag.

Lillard was 10th in the league last year in assists.

He was also 7th in efficiency.

His 3rd in scoring means he was looking to get the right person their shot (himself) then anyone else on the team.

It's obvious to me that Dame Lillard lost any confidence he had in the organization, right or wrong. They must do more than just go young through tanking to convince new star players they want to be here. Just my opinion.

I agree, we need to sign good young free agents, we need to sign experienced vet min guys for the bench with high character, most of all we need to trade Dame and get picks back both to use to build through the draft and to use in trades to pick up good young players that might be redundant on their teams or fallen out of favor for a reason we think we can remedy. Hopefully we also get a good player or two back for Dame. Besides Dame all of this needs to be done over the next couple of seasons.

The time for urgency past and we lost Dame now we need to patiently rebuild around our two young guards but obviously not Olshey patiently over the next decade. By 2025-26 we need to have a roster that is more promising and successful than what OKC had this past season.

Assists do not necessarily mean involved

Okay so Fentress kills kittens and refuses to help little old ladies across the street, but what is inaccurate about his post?

I didn't read it BECAUSE I BLOCKED IT WITH MY SCROLL!

Oh, and Aaron Fentress is synonymous with inaccuracy based on my emotional state.

Oh C’mon. Dame did an excellent job of playing Dame & the dwarves bball. He facilitated the dwarves getting points. At least we had some dwarfs that could score.

Unfortunately, because they were dwarfs, they were often outsized and tended to play defense with the same intensity as their leader. He set the example and tone and they followed.

Why do the Blazers need one?

Without one they will be a young team many pieces away from contending. Add a solid 3 & D player and they are a young team many pieces away from contending.

Just my opinion, I disagree. The Blazers need to add talent and assets. They don't need to worry about "convince new star players" of anything. If they Blazers have assets to build a contender and some good young talented stars they will be just fine to take that next step to contend. Without talent or assets it doesn't matter what the team does to "convince new star players" of anything.

Its not that Dame has the right to request a trade to a team more ready to win. Yes he can do that. If Dame just requested a trade and said he wanted a winner then I and many others would support him. But thats not what he nor his representatives did.

Its the one team on the list and his agent publicly threatening holdouts that is the issue. It's demanding a team in Miami that has few assets and no good young players. It's Dame's comments of "I always said I was loyal to myself not Portland" that is disingenuous and looks very bad.

Blazer fans are completely justified to feel betrayed by Dame for these actions. Dame is burning up his Blazers legacy and a decade+ of goodwill. That is his decision, and fans are right to feel he alone betrayed them.

    To who? To you?
To me, I find your bolded thought......a head shaker. Do ticket sales, season tickets, box to coorporate, and gear to fans matter?
