Noah Vonleh and the Portland Trail Blazers take on the Utah Jazz for the second day in a row, this time in a 1st Round Vegas Summer Leauge playoff games. The Blazers beat the Jazz just yesterday on a 'sudden death' 3-pointer from Pat Connaughton and now have the tough task of beating Utah on back-to-back days. They must figure out a way to slow down Trey Lyles as he exploded for 30 points and 9 rebounds. The Blazers were led with 20 points from C.J. Fair on 8-10 shooting but it's difficult to believe they will get that type of production out of him again. Vonleh, Connughton, Montero and Layman will have to step up in a bigger way if they are going to move on to the 2nd round.
Didn't they used to play 4....and then the playoffs? They used to let the "other" players get some minutes in game 4 to showcase their skills to the Euro teams. Either way I can only take another game or two....... Interesting that some of the teams play in two leagues to get more games. (i.e the Jazz)
Speaking of Lyles... Kentucky just doesn't stop putting studs into the NBA... John Calipari is a fucking wizard man. Look at the past 6 years! 2010: John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Patrick Patterson, Eric Bledsoe. 2011: Enes Kanter, Brandon Knight. 2012: Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Terrence Jones. 2013: Nerlens Noel. 2014: Julius Randle. 2015: Karl-Anthony Towns, Willie Cauley-Stein, Trey Lyles, Devin Booker. 2016: Jamal Murray, Skal Labissierre, Tyler Ulis. INSANE
More like last year's winner gets a spot in the championship game and the other spot to their best friend. The tournament is for appearances only.
Seems like every game this summer league we've had a color commentator rumored to be in the running for Portland's gig.
The college game is tough, having elite talent is nice but having a well oiled 3-4 year players machine is much better (as long as they are NBA level 3-4 year players of course).
