When they aren't falling, the three-time NBA scoring champion uses that as motivation to finish strong. "When I struggle for three quarters, all I think about is that last 12 minutes," Iverson said. Iverson scored 13 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter and had 11 assists as the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Miami Heat 89-74 Tuesday night in the season opener for both teams. Dwyane Wade scored 18 points in his first NBA game. Eddie Jones scored 15 points and Brian Grant added 13 for the Heat, who played all but the first eight minutes without forward Lamar Odom. Odom sprained his right ankle. X-rays were negative. Odom was the centerpiece of Miami's offseason overhaul, signing a $65 million, six-year contract. Odom said he might miss up to two games.</div> Full Story Box Score
Odom is hurt again. Wade looked very good. Rafer looked good out there too. John Wallace was horrible. Eddie Jones had a nice game.
I said when the Heat signed him to the fat contract that he is a big risk because of injury. He has missed over 80 games in two years because of injury..and It only takes him 8 minutes to get injuried again? very sad...
What a strong rookie class yet again this year. I thought we got too spoiled last year with Stoudemire, Yao, Butler, and Boozer (I won't forget about you Wagner before you got hurt), but this year adding James, Anthony, Wade, and Bosh..there has just been some sick young talent making it's way into the league.
Its not a big deal about Odom, hell be back soon, the Xrays were negative. I love Dwyane Wades game and I didn't have a doubt about the success he will have in this league, and so far in the first regular season game he showed what he can do, he also had some hip problems during the game. btw, you people need to start spelling his first name right, its D-W-Y-A-N-E not dwayne, the Y is after the W.

None of the players you listed from this years crop look like flukes. They all seem to be here to stay, which is great. Add to that the fact that there always seem to be some surprise rookie stars every year I think that the league just got an adrenaline injection!

IMO John "Buckets" Wallace was quite impressive his 1st game back in the L. Besides that I agree with everthing else u said.
