Wade Will Keep Options Open

Dwyane Wade, who attended Sunday's Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals at Amway Arena as part of a promotional appearance, said a pre-2010 resolution is possible.

"Just like I've said from the beginning, it's something I will sit down and talk to with my agent," he said. "Of course, we've got until July before there can really be serious talk about it. We'll see what's best for both sides. I'm not ruling it out, but I'm not saying that I would do it, either."

When Wade signed his rookie extension three years ago, he structured it for maximum flexibility, with the option to extend this summer, opt out in 2010, or play out the deal that otherwise pays $17.2 million in 2010-11.

"There are advantages," he said. "I think one of the biggest advantages is making a commitment to the organization that you want to call your organization and have other players say, 'Well, Dwyane is there,' and they might want to be a part. But, at the same time, I signed the contract for a reason, to have flexibility. You want to use that flexibility, as a player."

He's not leaving Miami, unless a big trade was to happen where the Heat get another star in return. That's how I see it.
