<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Dwyane Wade's recovery from shoulder surgery likely will force him to miss the start of the regular season. In the meantime, he hopes the Heat adds ''a piece'' that helps it contend for another NBA title. Wade said Monday he expects his recovery to keep him out of training camp in October and likely stretch well into the first month of the season. It was the first time Wade publicly acknowledged he might not be ready in time for early November games. ''I'm comfortable with it,'' Wade said. ``I understood when I had surgery that it was going to be a six-month [process]. I want to make sure I'm healthy as possible so I can play the most games I can play without going in and out of the lineup.'' Wade underwent two surgeries May 15 -- one to repair his dislocated left shoulder and another to repair tendinitis in his left knee. Wade first injured the shoulder Feb. 21 in a loss to Houston, but returned six weeks later to finish the season. The tendinitis became a problem soon after Wade returned in April. At the earliest, a six-month recovery process would put Wade back in the lineup around mid-November, more than two weeks in the regular season. Heat president and coach Pat Riley said he's optimistic Wade will be completely healthy when he returns. ''Every time I speak with him, he says he's doing well and getting better,'' Riley said before leaving the country for vacation last weekend.</div> Source: Miami Herald
well at least hes not rushing things. i'd rather see this then him go out there too early and re-injure himself.
If he'd have gotten surgery to end last season, you guys wouldn't have to worry about this. Instead, he waited it out and played again, and now this. You guys better hope Shaq can play like the Shaq of old instead of just an old Shaq, otherwise you might have a pretty large hole to be digging yourself out of by the time he gets back.
I think this guarantees a big move from Riley. I'm somewhat glad he's taking his time but we really need to get off on a good start to even compete seeing how inconsistent our team can be.

The Heat don't have any caproom and their best bargaining chip is Jason Williams expiring contract. However, most expiring contracts aren't traded until the February deadline. The only "big move" target I could see the Heat realistically landing is Ron Artest.
Well then it needs to be done, I think he would be a good addition to us defensively but he'll have to score as well. Is it 100% that we will not get Bibby?

Miami was pursuing Mo Williams and Steve Blake, but both have already signed with other teams. Miami might try to re-open the Bibby talks now since the Kings couldn't get a deal done with the Cavs. I'm not sure if Bibby would be the right fit for the Heat. He needs the ball in his hands to be effective, and the Heat already have Wade and Shaq dominating the basketball. I'm not quite sure if Bibby is the answer for Miami. He's also a liability on defense.
Bibby to Miami would be a long shot. I think he is the offence himself, and like Shape said, the Heat already have Wade and Shaq. Bibby's best place other then the Kings is the Cavs, but it's done now.
Posey and Kopono have left for free agency, but Jones is still servicable, especially if you only really need him for one month of play, and Wright is in the crucial fourth year for high school prospects, where most of them finally get a chance at major playing time and show whether they'll sink or swim in this league. I think Wright will swim. The first half of the season is meaningless, especially the first month. The Heat won't exactly plummet with a lineup of Williams/Jones/Wright/Haslem/Shaq with Walker, Mourning, and Cook off the bench. They won't be one of the top teams that first month, but they won't be a bottom-dweller either. By the time Wade comes back, they should have a respectable enough record with that lineup to where Wade can guide them back into the playoffs as a high seed.
