UNC freshman Marvin Williams' father said Tuesday that his son, junior point guard Raymond Felton and junior center Sean May would hold a joint news conference at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Smith Center to announce their plans.

Carolina teammate Rashad McCants announced last week that he would forfeit his final year of collegiate eligibility to turn pro.

Wake Forest sophomore guard Chris Paul also confirmed last week that he would hire an agent and enter the draft. Teammate Eric Williams won't hire an agent.</div>

Eric Williams is another kid who needs to stay for his senior year. He's not going to be a starting center in the NBA; he's undersized at 6'9". He is going to have to be a swingman between both big spots, and to play the 4 in the NBA, he's going to need to improve on some things before he'll be effective. I know he's dropped some significant poundage since his frosh year, but he needs to drop a bit more. With his build, he's not going to be agile enough if he's playing at 275 or so. He also needs to improve his shooting range and shot blocking. He's going to be an NBA player someday, but by staying another year at Wake he would surely improve his chances of being a good one...

He has got to stay in my mind, he isn't ready for the NBA at all. All he is going to do is sit on the pine for a couple years to eventually develop into a player that averages 5 points a game in his prime. I predict second round, meaning that Williams will probably not hire and agent and pull his name out of the draft pool. Maybe New York will take a chance on him in the second round, if they don't grab a big man with their first round choice.

You will be seeing Williams in a Wake Forest uniform next year, no question in my mind.
