Rumors have been circulating since Walton's fourth quarter performance against Orlando on sunday that the rookie might replace Slava Medvedenko in the Lakers starting lineup for tonight's game vs. the Heat. Apparently, the rumors were true. According to local sports radio station XTRA 690/1150, Walton will start in place of the slumping Medvedenko.

All I have to say about this is......NIIIICCCCCEEE. I want to see what he does in a starting role but he is one player I can't get enough of watching.

So Slava is back down to earth uh? Knew his good start wouldn't last. I loved Luke's game at Arizona, such a great passer and doesn't get enough credit for what he brings to his team.

Wonderful news. And why not make this move? Luke Walton was the man that jumpstarted the Laker comeback in the Orlando game last Sunday. And with his great vision and excellent display of passes, why shouldn't he not be named the starter? I'm sure Bill is very proud. [IMG]

Bill : "This is the greatest move by any coach in the history of the NBA! This Walton kid is the best rookie I've ever seen in my entire life!" LOL - probably not too far off though! [IMG]

Truly though, Luke was awesome in Sunday's game. How about that between-the-legs bounce pass? That's the first time I've seen that pass in nearly twenty years of watching the NBA!

Good for him, he deserves it.

He's a phenomenal passer, just what the Lakers need. He can create and dish the ball beyond his rookie years.

Glad Walton could get the starying nod tonight after a great game played on Sunday was Orlando. He's a nice passer, and should open up the Lakers offense tonight.

Good win, although Walton didn't do much of anything for the Lakers.

I've always liked Luke Walton, I'm glad he's finally been given a chance. He's one of the more gentler, graceful workhorses. He can pass and shoot. I hope this opens up more doors for him, congratulations Luke, very well deserved my man.

    The Waltons

Luke has been doing a great job IMO. He has good court vision, and is a good-passer. One of the brighter spots lately. His dad is cool too (super biased)
