Ok, so WAMMA, or The World Alliance of Mixed Martial Arts, wants to be the WBA/WBC/WBO for MMA. They have created their own heavyweight belt which Fedor Emelianenko and Tim Sylvia will fight for in July.

They also have a "unified" rankings system like some boxing org's do. Their latest polling of their panel of experts, which includes Mauro Renallo, Sam Caplan, and Nelson Hamilton, has produced these top-ten lists:

    <table cellpadding="1" border="1" width="100%"><tr><td>Rank</td><td>265</td><td>205</td><td>185</td><td>170</td><td>155</td><td>145</td></tr><tr><td>1</td><td>Fedor Emelianenko</td><td>Rampage Jackson</td><td>Anderson Silva</td><td>Georges St. Pierre</td><td>B.J. Penn</td><td>Urijah Faber</td></tr><tr><td>2</td><td>Minotauro Nogueira</td><td>Chuck Liddell</td><td>Rich Franklin</td><td>Jon Fitch</td><td>Takanori Gomi</td><td>Kid Yamamoto</td></tr><tr><td>3</td><td>Randy Couture</td><td>Lyoto Machida</td><td>Paulo Filho</td><td>Jake Shields</td><td>Sean Sherk</td><td>Masakazu Imanari</td></tr><tr><td>4</td><td>Josh Barnett</td><td>Forrest Griffin</td><td>Dan Henderson</td><td>Matt Hughes</td><td>Shinya Aoki</td><td>Jens Pulver</td></tr><tr><td>5</td><td>Tim Sylvia</td><td>Wanderlei Silva</td><td>Yushin Okami</td><td>Josh Koscheck</td><td>Gesias Calvancante</td><td>Akitoshi Tamura</td></tr><tr><td>6</td><td>Andrei Arlovski</td><td>Keith Jardine</td><td>Robbie Lawler</td><td>Thiago Alves</td><td>Gilbert Melendez</td><td>Jeff Curran</td></tr><tr><td>7</td><td>Fabricio Werdum</td><td>Shogun Rua</td><td>Matt Lindland</td><td>Matt Serra</td><td>Tatsuya Kawajiri</td><td>Takeshi Inoue</td></tr><tr><td>8</td><td>Gabriel Gonzaga</td><td>Dan Henderson</td><td>Nate Marquardt</td><td>Carlos Condit</td><td>Mitsuhiro Ishida</td><td>Antonio Carvalho</td></tr><tr><td>9</td><td>Ben Rothwell</td><td>Thiago Silva</td><td>Kazuo Misaki</td><td>Diego Sanchez</td><td>Kenny Florian</td><td>Hatsu Hioki</td></tr><tr><td>10</td><td>Mirko Cro Cop</td><td>Rashard Evans</td><td>Michael Bisping</td><td>Karo Parisyan</td><td>Roger Huerta</td><td>Wagnney Fabiano</td></tr></table>

Is it worth switching from the SportsTwo Hot Six list to this one? Do you think it is more or less accurate?

not stick to your own listing... Jake Sheilds at #3??? ugh sorry no, he's a classic example of big fish in a small pond IMO and he wouldn't be top 5 in the UFC.

How far back do they go for a fighter.. Fedor has fought no one of interest in 3+ years, Randy hasn't fought in nearly a year, Lindland hasn't fought at 185 for quite some time as well.. bleh, if you use this, may as well use MMA weekly's rankings.
