WASPS legend Warren Gatland is tipping the club he inspired to European glory to bomb out against the Blues during their massive Amlin Challenge Cup semi-final in High Wycombe tonight.

The Wales boss steered the Adams Park outfit to Heineken and Challenge Cup titles and three English Premiership titles during his three full seasons in charge.

But, despite his deep affection for Wasps – his Wales lieutenant and confidant Shaun Edwards is coach of the Londoners – Gatland insists he wants the Blues to become the first Welsh region to lift a European trophy.

And Gatland reckons David Young’s team possesses the personnel and strike weapons to end England’s hopes of salvaging pride from a disastrous season through Wasps in the big Anglo-Welsh battle for a final place in Europe’s second-tier tournament.
