I pray that Claxton doesn't hurt himself again. That guy hustles as much as Cardinal but is about 80 lbs lighter too. I worry if we sign him to a big multi year contract.
When Van Exel comes back from injury, hopefully he will get the point on what Speedy Claxton does with this offense. Warriors look better as an overall team out there, and I don't want to see that dissapear when NVE returns. If they continue at this paste if playing, and nothing changes when NVE is inserted back in to the lineup, watch for J-Rich's pts average to head up into the 20's.
It will be interesting to see what happens when NVE comes back. We might get our first look at a HEALTHY Nick. Hopefully that healthy Nick plays better.
I don't know Speedy has been changing the game with his pressure defense, steals, and ability to push the ball and get fouled. He's like a poor man's Allen Iverson, which is probably why the sixers drafted him. Sometimes he doesn't get the call which sucks, but he sure makes the defense a little afraid when he helps put the other team over the limit. Still, there's always love for Nick, snice he's got better court vision and experience than Claxton. And he sinks these ridiculous shots that have no way of going in like "you've got to be kidding me" baskets.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting franchise3:</div><div class="quote_post">Speaking of Nick, how many assists is he averaging, less than 4?</div> NVE is averaging 6. 5.9 to be exact, I guess Rudeezy just put that since he is on the IL. Thing is, Nick Van Exel isn't fitting this offense well anymore. He's not understanding his new role, Warriors don't need a scoring PG. They need an unselfish player who passes first but at the same time not being afraid to take that shot. That's why they played better with Arenas last year. Warriors have the scoring they need IMO.

We have seen some flashes of brilliance from him this year.
Just posted this in the T-Wolves/Warriors Game thread, but since this is a stats thread, take a look at where Dampier stands. Just a few looks at where his stats rank among the NBA: Ranks #4 in the NBA in Rebounds Per Game(11.5) Ranks #1 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds(201.0) Ranks #5 in the NBA in Double-doubles(23.0) Ranks #6 in the NBA in Defensive Rebounds Per 48 Minutes(10.4) Ranks #7 in the NBA in Field-Goal Percentage(0.509) Ranks #18 in the NBA in Blocks(72.0)

Although it will just make having Damp next year more unlikely.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">I really hope he makes the all-star game, he definately deserves it. Although it will just make having Damp next year more unlikely.</div> I'm thinking either way. If he makes it, more teams will be throwing money at him. If he doesn't, he may try to join another team for less money for better recognition and more all-star votes. Dampier should be at least over Vlade Divac though, but that just goes to show how many votes a dominant Kings fanbase can provide. The Kings used to suck badly but now since they're good, all their players get more votes even from non-kings fans. I think the Warriors just need to make the right moves and be a serious playoff conteder and make the playoffs in this tough conference. That's how you get recognition from non-warrior fans and get more fairweather fans to go all crazy again and jump on the bandwagon. I think that will happen when the Lakers and the Kings need to start rebuilding and hopefully by that time we get a new owner who gives a damn. That's just my take on when the warriors will ever get any love outside the hardcore fanatics.
If he doesn't make it, he might sign with a team in the East where he can get more recognition. If he does, he might be asking a lot from Golden State, which they probably don't have. So either way, he won't likely be around next year.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">Forget the recognition, he wants the money.</div> Ok the money it is. So is Dampier the kind of player who would rather want 10 million than say, sign with the Nets at minimum for the chance of all-stardom and a chance to go to the finals?

I guess we will find out at the end of this year how "money hungry" he really is.
