Even though Efes is the dominant Turkish team, it's hard to know what to take away from a game like this, so just some random observations. Efes Pilsen Players Kerem Gonlum - Definitely has some game...moves his feet really well. But at 28, not much of a prospect. Drew Nicholas - Very nice game. Marcus Haislip - Played like he couldn't be bothered. Warriors Team/Players Moved the ball really well. They were really finding the cutter. Only Chewie got a little ball hoggy. You could really hear the defensive communication in the first half. Dajuan Wagner - Scored at will. Stood out the most imho. Beans - Couldn't be stopped down low. Roberson - Very small, very quick. Nice fast release on the jumper. Pietrus - Found the open cutter a few times. Very active. Nice game. Monta - Also scored at will MDJ - Actually made some shots and seemed very comfortable as the point-whatever lol. Diogu - Scoring machine in the post. they had no answer for him.
And Murphy got his double double in little more than a quarter. Warriors FT% was very good. If we had J Rich we'd have really run amok.
hmmm, Inside Outside presence? Diogu inside/outside , Ellis/Wagner inside/outside? Sounds like Dun, Murphy, Pietrus also had nice games without disrupting the flow. I would have loved to see this game, even if it doesn't count for anything and that the other team isn't as good.

Hopefully Nelson finds a good lineup before the actual season starts. Because the real nba season is probably like having two a days for six straight days during road trips, back to backs, etc, especially if we're running a lot more than we used to. We may be tired constantly during the middle and later part of the season.
<div class="quote_poster">custodianrules2 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...ed=rss.warriors I won't say anything negative, but damn...</div> lol, yea. At least it was a huge blowout so nobody notices that kind of thing. Anyway, Murphy and MDJ are better shooters than that, so it probably isn't anything to worry about.
<div class="quote_poster">Carter Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">When did we get Wagner? </div>Are you kidding me? I wouldnt make a big deal out of Dunleavy and Murphy missing shots, that happens. Sometimes it happens when you are playing against inferrior opponets because you have a let down. Good to see Wagner and Ellis played well though.
I'm glad we won because I was nervous we would lose and make up excuses like "its just a pre season game"
I caught the last half of the third quarter through the end of the game on the internet last night, my impressions: From the brief few minutes of seeing Murphy he was basically just getting wide open feeds from Pietrus (!) and converting to layups and dunks and getting alot of defensive rebounds. He didn't look all that into the game but was playing well against the Efes big men. Basically just what you'd expect from Murphy in a preseason game. Dunleavy was missing alot of shots like usual but didn't look as bad overall. Defense wasn't too bad but there was a point where Marcus Haislip scored on him 3 times in a row with a running hook across the lane, a mid range J in Dun's face, then a 3 in Dun's face. Made a nice pass or two and did a decent job fighting on the glass. Wagner got to the rim at will and had 18 points in the game. He's very quick and has a nice floater from all the way to the FT line. He's just a very good scorer but not as out of control as I thought he'd be. Defense was average but he's no slouch. Played a little point and didn't look too bad but he's definitely much more comfortable as a scorer instead of an initiator. Monta very much like Wagner but seemed to have a more frenetic style. He's pure energy and speed, made a nice drive into the lane with a spin move and hit a layup at the buzzer of the 3rd quarter. Classic Monta. I loved what I saw from Pietrus. He's not the lost 3 pt chucking swingman we saw last season but he's also not the star in the making we thought he once might be. He reminded me of Josh Howard; hitting the offensive glass HARD, looking to pass instead of wildly chucking a 3 or running into a stationary defender while penetrating. He took one shot that I saw (a corner 3 that he missed) but had at least 3 assists and 3 offensive rebounds with solid defense and overall activity. Biedrins also looked really good. He got alot of playing time and is basically the same player we're used to seeing but didn't foul as much. He's automatic within 10 feet of the hoop and his FTs were at least online with the rim though he still chucks them way too fast and without any arc. Ike scored at will in the post but didn't have much impact on the glass. Looks like the same Ike we're used to seeing. Baron didn't seem very interested in the game (like Murphy). He was used alot in the post and mostly successful scoring on his much smaller defender. Looked about average.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting http://www.nba.com/warriors/news/Preseason...ap_TURGSW.html:</div><div class="quote_post"> POSTGAME QUOTES DON NELSON On Monta Ellis? play tonight ?Yeah I liked him?if he can stay healthy he will be good for us. He really changed the tempo of the game when he went in.? On the team?s energy level tonight ?I thought they came out with a lot of energy tonight. (Mickael) Pietrus set the stage early and everyone sort of picked up on it.? On the team?s free-throw shooting ?You can tell from the game we have been working on it, and we will continue to do so.? DAJUAN WAGNER On his performance tonight ?I did all right, but I could do better? Just running up and down the court, just playing. I?m playing hard...I just have to keep working hard. I?m feeling comfortable more and more every day? It feels great to be out there. Just walking in and going to shoot-around, and going to training camp ? It doesn?t matter, I just want to play.? MONTA ELLIS On the team's performance ?It feels good?We did the things coach wanted us to do. We messed up a little bit, but we did some things to make up for it.? On scoring 120 points ?We?re going to try to do that every night, get out and run and push the ball up. When you keep playing defense and rebound and do the things we did tonight, we?re going to be tough to beat all season.? ANDRIS BIEDRINS On his performance tonight ?I?m just doing my best and I think I am doing pretty good right now. Coach said after the game that I did a good job...I just try to run all the time. The main thing I try to do is run right now, get the ball out fast (when taking the ball) out of bounds and just try to run, run, run.? </div> Don Nelson likes Monta Ellis and Mickael Pietrus. Doesn't he like Wagner as well? Jason might be facing some tough competition for some PT, at least as the SG. I suppose though, Jason could always move to the SF position, but it seems as if Nelson like the guards on this team. Ellis is changing the tempo, something you want from a bench player, and Pietrus is setting things up, which is what you want from a starter. I like how Andris is so set on run, run, run. He has always been like that so he can really succeed on this team if that is what the coaches and the team is expecting from him. Scoring 120 points should be the goal of the team everynight, I like how Monta said it. http://www.nba.com/warriors/news/Preseason_Recap_TURGSW.html
