Warriors @ Wizards: Tonight Warriors at Washington Tipoff: 4 p.m. today, MCI Center in Washington. TV: Fox Sports Net. Radio: KTCT (1050). Wizards update: Washington won just twice in December and is tied with Orlando for the fewest wins in the NBA with eight. Additionally, the Wizards' best player, G/F Jerry Stackhouse, is out until at least the end of the month. Washington is 26th in the NBA in scoring (88.3 points per game) and 28th in field-goal percentage (40.9). However, you can bet G Gilbert Arenas will be sharper against his former team than he was Friday when he was 5 for 19 from the field in a loss to Atlanta in his return from the injured list. Arenas (19.6 points) and former Warrior Larry Hughes (18.8 points) are Washington's top scorers. Warriors injuries: C Adonal Foyle (leg), F Popeye Jones (knee) and C Evan Eschmeyer (knees) are out. Wizards injuries: G Chris Whitney (ankle) and Stackhouse (knee) are out. The Warriors are 14-16 after their 88-70 loss at New Jersey on Wednesday. The Wizards are 8-21 after their 83-73 loss to visiting Atlanta on Tuesday. Former Warriors point guard Gilbert Arenas, who had missed 14 games because of strained abdominal muscles, returned to Washington's lineup Tuesday and had 14 points on 5-for-19 shooting. ... The Wizards, who have lost five in a row, held a players-only meeting after Thursday's practice. ... Warriors coach Eric Musselman said there is a possibility the team will activate forward/center Popeye Jones for tonight's game. If not, he said Jones likely will be activated for the game against Detroit on Wednesday. ... The Warriors have lost four consecutive games on the road by an average margin of 19.8 points.
Warriors hook up with ex-teammate Arenas in D.C. tonight. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Warriors power forward Troy Murphy likes to look at boxscores to see how teammates from last season are doing with their new clubs. Murphy always starts his search with the same player. "You have to check 'Boy Wonder' first because you never know what that boxscore could say -- whether he gets tossed, whether he's not playing, or something,'' Murphy said, referring to Gilbert Arenas by nickname. "He's the most entertaining. He's something else. I miss that guy.'' No need for Murphy to seek out the stat sheet from today's Wizards game, because he'll be a part of it. Washington will play host to the Warriors in Arenas' first game against the team that drafted him in the second round, watched him begin to realize his vast potential and saw him depart as a free agent in August. The third-year point guard, having just emerged Thursday afternoon from a players-only meeting that followed a practice at the MCI Center, was in no mood to rehash the events from the offseason. But Arenas did say he has no regrets about accepting a six-year, $64 million contract from the struggling Wizards, and added that re-signing with the Warriors -- most likely for one year at $4.9 million with the chance for a big payday next offseason -- did not feel right. </div> http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...SPG0R42A5N1.DTL
Stackhouse the best player? That's abit much....I wish Foyle were playing, I love watching that guy, he's on the same level as Vlade. Dampier will make short work of their center. Maybe this'll be further chances for Kwame Brown to improve....Warriors are better both ways thoguh, I think Q-Rich, NVE and Dunleavy are gonna clean up with Dampier supporting them.
I'm hoping the Warriors can pick up this one, after struggling their past few games, I take them over Washington by 10.
Good preview. Got to take Warriors in this one. The Wizards don't really impress me much. I expect NVE to have a great game. Warriors by 8.
This is just disgusting, I had to turn the game off. Getting blown out the building by the Wiz? Something needs to change quick, it's painful to watch.
It's funny how the worst team in the NBA are blowing the Warriors man this is funny. J/K This is embarrising to the Warriors and their fans and Hilarious to the Wizards fans
Looks like the wizards got the W in an upset against the Warriors. Rudeezt should have the recap for you all that want to know.
Purple n Gold said it best, I had to turn the tv off. How frustrating is this? We beat the two best teams in the league and all of a sudden we can't play basketball? I wish I knew the whole story...there is something definately going on. J-Rich, Dunleavy, and Dampier are the only ones playing basketball.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Rookie Jarvis Hayes and the Washington Wizards used a balanced attack to snap a five-game losing streak. Hayes scored 20 points and seven other Wizards scored at least eight en route to a 97-79 victory over the Golden State Warriors. Larry Hughes added 15 points and Jared Jefferies had 10 and 12 rebounds as the Wizards also snapped a two-game home skid. Former Warrior Gilbert Arenas finished with nine points and nine rebounds in his first game against his former team. Arenas was a 2001 second-round pick of Golden State. He saw limited action his rookie season but averaged 18.3 points last season and was named the NBA's Most Improved Player before signing a six-year, $64 million contract with Washington during the summer. Jason Richardson scored 25 points for Golden State, which has lost four in a row overall and five straight on the road. Nick Van Exel's 3-pointer with 5:52 left in the third quarter gave the Warriors a 58-53 lead. But Washington closed the quarter with a 19-4 run to build a 72-62 advantage. </div> recap box score
Wow, I am shocked! When I saw the score I thought it was the other way around. Beyond JRich, no body scored that much. Only TWO people had double digits in scoring. I hope they can rebound from this loss. It's a tough one.

It's just as frustrating knowing they have the type team that can contend for the playoffs, but play bad.
They HAVE to change something now... I didn't want a trade initially, but it's become clear that there's a problem in the locker room (something to do with Nick Van Exel), and it's tough to see a team with so much potential do so badly. I want a trade as soon as possible, so it'll allow the new team to gel and get prepared for the push for the playoffs.

You'll get a whole different look on the team, and if this losing continues, you'll also have to look out for the future.
I no i am late on this but...i was shocked to, i was happy i thought it was over, i dont understand Kwame Brown went 4-4 from the field yet only got 13 minutes...
