Nice game for Melo, 8-15, 4-6 from three, 7 boards 4 assists...this is going to be one special player and this is going to be one heated ROY race, i think it will be Co-Rookie
I agree VA about co-rookies, many people forgot about that. This reminds me a lot of the Grant Hill/Jason Kidd race. The Nuggets just keep doing it, like I have said, maybe aside from the Kings, the best team basketball is played here.
Wow I'm surprised this thread hasn't gone longer, Melo had a great game and hit threes all night to help get the win for the Nuggets. Right no I think Melo is playin like the ROY... looks like he got some clutch in himself when he hit that three to give the Nuggets the lead. Great game for the hot Nuggets... wish they were on TV more...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting King James:</div><div class="quote_post"> The Nuggets just keep doing it, like I have said, maybe aside from the Kings, the best team basketball is played here.</div> Yeah the Nuggets are on fire. They're playing better than they ever did. Earl,Carmello, and the rest of the Nuggets should give each other a pat on the back. I also got to put them as the team that has suprised me the most this year. Great start of the season Nuggets

Both teams finished with a 17-65 record last year. I'd rather have a playoff bound team than a few pretty passes. But both rookies have a bright future. But for Carmelo, the future is right now.
I'm not trying to instigate here, I'm just giving my opinion. Melo brings wins & turns the players around him into winners, while Bron brings highlight reel passes. Thats just the way I see it. You are free to disagree. I could be wrong.

Carmelo's team is playing great, Lebron's team is not. I give the edge to Carmelo. Who usually gets the MVP? The player that is on a winner. I know its not that great of a comparison but I hope you get the point.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">True, but that isn't the case. Carmelo's team is playing great, Lebron's team is not. Not having any veterans is hurting the Cavs big time, should that be held against James? No, because these teams are not the same as last year, both made many changes, Denver just made better ones. Co-Rookies will be a lock, because I see this exactly like the Grant Hill/Jason Kidd situation (and the Mavs still stunk)
Not even close. Melo will easily win rookie of the year. According to a CNNSI poll, 62% of 15000 people (compared to 24% for Lebron & 15% for someone else) voted Carmelo Anthony as ROOKIE OF THE YEAR. Right, Luke Walton's 2 pts per game are TRULY the reason why the Lakers are 17-3. You were saying I was the one who didnt know what I was talking about?? You need to trust your own mind & eyes & believe less of what the media feeds you.

The polls are only "pointless" when they completely REFUTE your point of view, eh? Even with LeBron getting 90% of the hype, the people STILL know who the best rookie of the year is. LMFAO @ some random guy on the net thinking he knows more than 25000 people. & apparently you didnt watch the NBA last season when Amare beat Yao for ROY mainly cuz his team made the playoffs. Apparently you also didnt pay attention last year that the Nugs were even WORSE THAN THE CAVS even though they both had a 17-65 record. Most people felt the Nugs OVERACHIEVED in getting 17 wins in the west. All about stats huh? I guess the fact that Melo is leading in ppg, FG %, FT% 3pt %, & Rebounds are all overruled by the fact Lebron has 3 more passes per game. Dont you realize that its apples & oranges comparing the 2 players assists? Theyre 2 different styles of players!
