If free agent, Gilbert Arenas, signs with the Nuggets, the Warriors are going to trade Mike Dunleavy to the Chicago Bulls for either Jay Williams or Jamal Crawford.

Bulls will NOT trade crawford..kid has alot of talent and putting up great numbers lately thats why he is a starter and williams is not..jay will likely get traded..but where did you hear this trade rumour?

the rumor came from the chicago tribune

"Rumors persist that Golden State point guard Gilbert Arenas will bolt in free agency for Denver, leaving the Warriors perhaps likely to want Williams or Crawford for Mike Dunleavy.

Crawford played so well down the stretch that his current value is much higher than Dunleavy's and there would have to be other factor's in the deal for the Bull's to consider it.

Jay Willams for Dunleavy is more likely but still not likely. They are both top prospects who've not yet lived up to their potential, however most would agree that Williams has a higher ceiling (that's why he was the number one pick after all).

Also, Williams is simply a better fit for the Bulls. Consider this; All three J's (Jay, Jalen, Jamal) can play both the 1 and the 2. That's 96 minutes for three players or 33 a piece. That makes for a pretty sweet 3-guard rotation and if Jalen gets a few minutes at the 3 spot that's enough playing time to placate everyone (except, mabye Trenton Hassel).

Where would Dunleavy play? Behind Tyson Chandler, Donyell Marshall, Rose and whoever they draft? Remember they have to make room for a lottery pick next fall too. Both Dunleavy and Chandler (who proved at the end of last year he should begin '03 campaign as starter).

Unless they can get more value than just Dunleavy, I'd be suprised to see this deal go through.

But after trading away a 22 year-old star to 'rebuild' with younger players...no deal Krause makes will shock me.

gah. jay is worth much more to any team than dunleavy is. he's taken less time to develope too. plus, the bulls dont need another shooting guard unless he's proven he's a good defender.
