This game is on tomorrow at 4:30. Call me crazy but I think this will be a great game that could go either way.
Definitely. Both the teams are coming off losses on teh first night of a back-to-back, but the Cavs have a lot more on the line. They still want to keep their fading playoff dreams alive, while the Warriors simply want to finish their season strong (even though I think that a loss will help us.. when it comes to winning the Okafor lottery ). I want Muss to put Piet on Lebron and see what happens. I think it'll be a good matchup. Warriors by 5.
This will be a tough matchup for the Warriors. The Cavs have LeBron, Boozer, and Z. Without Dampier, i hope the Warriors can cool down Z. That may be a very tough task for the Warriors. The Warriors also will need to have some major scoring help from players like Dunleavy, Pietrus, Clifford, and the bench, along with a solid performance from JRich. Also i believe the Warriors have a ton of trouble in Cleveland over the past years. Hopefully the new court paint will change that. When the Warriors are doing well they get a ton of fast break points. Tonights game may be a chance to get some of those points. I can see both win or loss happening tonight for the Warriors. I wouldn't be surprised neither to see the Cavs blowing this one open. But that LeBron vs. Pietrus matchup is going to be the matchup to watch. It will probably take a very good game for the Warriors to get a win tonight on the road. Unless if the Cavs just crumble. It should be a good game.
Dunleavy needs to play better, judging only by stats he seems to be the worst player right now on this road trip. I don't blame that on him because if teams press him its going to be hard to set up the offense, since hes's not really a point guard.
Out of curiosity who were you all clamoring to pick in the 2002 draft? I was thinking Caron Butler or Nene before the draft of Dunleavy. When he got drafted I was like WTF are you doing? Get a defensive player that's athletic.
For the 2002 draft i thought somehow getting Nene and Skita would had been good for the Warriors. I also liked Welsch as a sleeper. So if i knew the Warriors were going to take that 76ers pick. I would had wanted Nene and Welsch. So then the Warriors would of had. Arenas/Sura JRich/Welsch Jamison/Mills Murphy/Nene Dampier/Foyle I remember hearing how Nene Hilario was a beast of an athlete(i think from scouts and Drew Gooden who worked out with him for a team) and that he was so long and strong and everything else. And he was supposed to be great at defense. He was said to of had great foot work as well. And he was developoing a low post game. And i remember Jiri being a great shooter and a player with lots of skills and someone who liked playing defense. He could also handle the ball which was something JRich was strugging with and he could of added some outside shooting which was somethiing the Warriors wanted a lot at that time. So i liked Jiri. And Skita was this amazing shooter who was 7 feet tall who was supposed to be like Dirk Nowitzki and be that year's Pau Gasol sleeper. Oh yeah now i remember...if the Warriors were to get Skita and Nene, they would had been able to play Arenas, JRich, Skita, Jamison, Nene at one time and score a ton of points and be an exciting team to watch. This was before Dampier had his good season this year, and his solid season last year. I was against trading up to get Jay Williams though, not because he wasn't good, but i liked Arenas. And i didn't understand why Dunleavy was always rated so high then. And i thought Caron Butler wouldn't had been a good fit with JRich. And there was no way he'd get that much time over Jamison, and i guess he was a little too short to play SF. But that is what i was thinking/wanting before that 2002 draft.
Being short at SF isn't a problem as long as you are fast and long. I thought Skita would be a nice asset but like I said before the dude was only 18, he's incredibly skinny, and he doesn't look like a good defender. I'd take him 4 years though. I think that's when he'll be good and maybe we can grab him in after his contract year is up.
What a first quarter for Dunleavy, the Cavs PG's could not hang with him on the low block. Dunleavy with 14 points in the first quarter on 5-5 shooting! Warriors up 6 late in the first quarter.
Wow, what a game. Check out J-Rich. He outplayed King James. Didn't J-Rich look like another guy who wore 23 tonight??
The real player of the game was Richardson. The guy was doing everythying that I wanted him to do, like for instance, hit at least 80% of free throws.
J-Rich literally took over this game in the second half and iced it in the final minutes. What a win for the Warriors with no Dampier, Claxton, Johnson, NVE! Tough loss to the Cavs as their playoff hopes are looking even slimmer after this loss.
And that's why you can't trade Jrich because the guy is focussed to excel. He said it himself that free throws is the one area he was going to focus hard on every day in the offseason. That's why I really admire him even though is D is not as good compared to Pietrus. Dunleavy I am liking because he can post up smaller guards and it forces Richardson and Pietrus to handle the ball more to get Dunleavy in position in the low post.
Lets just keep this team in tact for next year. They have shown what they can do without Claxton, NVE, and even Damp out of the line up.
Yeah, and these are against teams trying to fight for their dear lives for the playoffs. I'd imagine they'd be trying way harder than the Warriors. Anyone remember that starchild guy that was saying how Lebron was going to beat the warriors singlehandedly? I hope he's reading this.

Good game for the Warriors even though I didn't watch it cuz I was at an AAU tournament... JRich had the type of game that I was expecting. Does anyone know why Pietrus played only like 15 minutes? Murph had a pretty good game too, with 18 and 6.

I'm not saying they played bad when he was in, but Pietrus didn't bring much to the table offensively tonight. I would have still loved to see him in there in place of Cheany though.
Although I would have rather seen Pietrus play more, you have to respect Cheaney because he's done so much Jrich mentally. He's a great mentor and he's great for coaches. That's probably why Musselman likes him. Any guy who has played for Bobby Knight would be a great person to coach and that can teach others the game. Cheaney once said that he only wish Jrich could know how much potential he has to be great.
