GARRY ST. JEAN SAID the Warriors "positioned ourselves nicely for the future" by standing pat before Thursday's NBA trade deadline.

The future has been elusive for the Warriors. Players, coaches and team officials such as general manager St. Jean have been talking about the future for a decade. You'd think we could at least see its taillights by now.

Every October loyal fans wonder if the future has finally arrived. Maybe this will be the year the Warriors field a playoff-caliber team. They have become like kids in the backseat of a car on the road to oblivion. "Are we there yet?" they plead, year after year. The answer is always the same -- not yet.</div>

Maybe we should keep a sticky with daily news articles about the Warriors like I've seen at some forums.
