Tipoff: 5 p.m. today at New Orleans Arena. TV: Fox Sports Net. Radio: KNBR (680). Hornets update: New Orleans is coming off a 97-86 loss at Houston on Thursday, but the Hornets remain neck-and-neck with Milwaukee for the No. 4 playoff spot in the East. Against the Rockets, New Orleans' starters scored just 60 points -- and G Baron Davis accounted for half that total. C Jamaal Magloire has scored in double figures in 16 of the past 18 games. He also has grabbed nine rebounds or more in 16 of 17 games and has eight double-doubles in nine games. New Orleans beat the Warriors 96-85 on Dec. 12. Warriors injuries: G Speedy Claxton (hand), C Evan Eschmeyer (knees) and G Nick Van Exel (knee) are out. Hornets injuries: F Jamal Mashburn (knee) and G Courtney Alexander (Achilles') are out. Do I even dare to make a prediction?
Also(sorta clicked the post button too early) if Pietrus isn't in the game, the Warriors could be in deep trouble. Baron Davis can take over games at will. And to go along with that, the Hornets have some big men in Jamal McGlore(or something like that) and if the Warriors big men have to be waiting for the penetration every time that the Hornets have the ball, then i can see Jamal getting some good looks, and plenty of points. Also the Hornets are a good shooting team with Wesley and Baron Davis, which could be another area of concern if the Warriors have to worry about penetration. However if the Warriors can take care of the ball, keep with that pick 'n roll, and keep Pietrus in the game, and have some good scoring from some other players, such as Cardinal or Cliff, or Dampier; then the Warriors could have a shot at this game. If Speedy were healthy, i think this would be a great matchup though. But right now i think Baron could be too much.
No way the Warriors could get the W, even though New Orleans has not been playing as good as they can, but neither are the Warriors. Hornets by 7.
Anything is possible. The Warriors could get a win but it's likely that won't happen.I think that Baron and Magloire will help the Hornets win this one. Both of them are playing great and J-Rich should have a good game too.I predict that the Hornets win by 6.
I just can't watch. It was so sloppy they had to put in all the veterans just to make sure Dunleavy, Richardson were prevented from turning over the ball. I wish Musselman would put this lineup in (A.J., Cheaney, Robinson, Murphy, Dampier). Cheaney has got the surefire midrange shot. and they have Murphy/Dampier for the putbacks and the offensive rebounds, Robinson as the defensive stopper and perimeter shooter, and A.J. as the guy who can penetrate and create for others) I think P.J. Brown got injured, so that will make it easier on the boards. Magloire and Brown are just killing the warriors in rebounding right now. That's why they're ahead so much. That and all the 3 pointers they shoot that go in, the missed ones just end up as 2's. UPDATE: Musselman went in and put in Dampier, Murphy, Cheaney, Richardson, and A.J. and the offense and rebounding was much much better, especially second chance points rebounding. The hornets have been leaving a lot of points at the line.

My gripe is why did Petrius only play minutes and Bremer played around 20 and shot 2-12. IMO Petrius has been here longer and has earned himself more minutes than someone who has not even practiced yet. I am starting to lose my patience with Mussleman. I still like him, defend him and want him back, but this is frustrating. Why did Petrius not play even though we were getting blown out by 20+pts? Put your young guys in when the game is out of hand and let them get some PT and develop.
Wow.. I at least expected the Warriors to be competitive in this game. No hope left in this season. Looks like Murphy's back! 7-8 fg, 15 pts and 9 boards in 28 minutes. Better stats than Dampier in 11 minutes left. I got a question. WHY DID PIETRUS ONLY PLAY 4 MINUTES?!?

Hornets win 102-84. I thought GS would put up a better fight, and like I said Baron will light it up (Almost TD, 24 points, 10 assists, 9 rebounds), and he did. I also said if Magloire helps we should take this which he did scoring 18 points and pulling down 10 boards. The rest of the Hornets played pretty good, and the team shot 55.6% as a whole. The Hornets also dished out 31 assists to the Warriors 19, and had 14 steals to the Warriors 5. The Warriors committed 21 turnovers and were out rebounded 37-33. Troy Murphy returned for GS and had a great game scoring 15 points (7-8)and pulled down 9 rebounds.
Did anybody hear watch the game? I wanna know how the Hornets jumped out to a big lead- was it good defense, or just poor offense for the Warriors?
I would guess a combo of both. No offense for the Warriors and 50% shooting usually does not bode well for the Warriors.
It was a combination of no rebounding, turnovers, lack of rotating the defense to get out on perimeter D, allowing uncontested shots, stupid fouls committed, shot selection, and just lack of teamwork. The team is really missing its point guards which is needs to run an open offense system like Musselman's.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kobeonfire:</div><div class="quote_post">Musselman needs to run more set plays without a true PG on the floor.</div> Dunleavy and Jrich get slowed down easily when you run the backcourt pressure on them, therefore they have less time to set the plays up and spend more time passing and backing down. I've been watching its like 3 or 5 seconds more time than normal when Speedy brings the ball up, and that's 3 or 5 seconds more they could have taken to get a good clean shot off. Then you take into account that players normally set up to take shots are out of position and everything just gets discombobulated. Plus, I don't even know if Musselman has any set plays that aren't predictable.
^ Yeah- remember the Lakers game when we could have had the game-winning shot, and they passed it to Cliff? Didn't even come off a screen, got his shot blocked by Shaq. Great play, Muss.
