Tipoff: 5 p.m. today at the Target Center in Minneapolis. TV: Fox Sports Net. Radio: 1050. Timberwolves update: Minnesota on Wednesday did the impossible (at least that was what ESPN made it seem like). It defeated Lawrence Frank's team. The New Jersey Nets had won 14 in a row, all but one under Coach Frank after Byron Scott was fired, but Troy Hudson, filling in for injured Sam Cassell, scored 29 points and Kevin Garnett added 18 in an 81-68 Timberwolves victory. Minnesota has the second-best record in the Western Conference, 42-16, trailing only Sacramento. Warriors injuries: C Evan Eschmeyer (knees) and F Troy Murphy (ankle) are out. Timberwolves injuries: F Ndudi Ebi (knee) is out. G Cassell (ankle) is questionable.
We've got too many injuries. We need to use Pietrus on some plays. He's just sitting there collecting dust. Anyone think can Mike Dizzle can play point?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Warriorfansnc93:</div><div class="quote_post">How did speedy get hurt? We definately need Petrius on the floor with his defense and energy.</div> http://www.nba.com/warriors/news/speedy_hand_022704.html He'll be out for 3 weeks minimum with a broken hand.
I got no clue it was unrelated to the sprained thumb that he had while scoring a career high if that's what you meant. He broke his hand after that last game. Who knows, it's Speedy for gosh sakes! Everyone knows he's the most injury prone player on the roster next to Eschmeyer and he hasn't done jack feces all year. It will be some sort of miracle that the warriors win. Maybe we'll see another Richardson clutch 3 to seal the game.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/gamelog?gameId=240227016 Kind of slow to update but it is 89 - 79 with the Twolves scoring on every posession. Actually I'm sort of half watching but now I am going to turn off the game. The lineup is Damp, Crob, NVE, Cardinal, and Richardson.
Wow, 6 dunks, a couple of tips, and a 14ft jumper hugh. Along with a few free throws. Not bad Damp, not bad. How is he getting the dunks? Is he just under the basket or is he just out muscleing someone? Who is guarding him? Who is guarding Garnett?
Damp is using his footwork and getting putback dunks and point blank range dunks. BTW I'm so glad Damp is in the 4th quarter. Remember, how Musselman used to take him out and make Cliffy the center and go small with the rest of the lineup? Least we still have some chance to make it a single digit loss.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Warriorfansnc93:</div><div class="quote_post">I wonder if we will be able to beat Chicago now with speedy out.</div>We are still a better team without Speedy, just depends which Warrior's team shows up.
