wow, avery johnson makes 5 million.... They have a lot of young players...Hopefully, the Warriors will look ahead and allocate their money for Richardson, Murphy, Dunleavy, and maybe Claxton...o yea, and Cardinal....NVE should clear some of that...
Brian Cardinal BETTER get a big payday after this season... hopefully from the Warriors (and they better not let him go like they did Earl.. please be loyal Brian! We love you)

He means too much to this team to let him go.
Yeah, Warriors definetley need to lock up players like Richardson, Murphy, Dunleavy, and Cardinal should be taken care off this off-season. I'm still looking for the Warriors to do something big though. I honestly think their that ONE player away from being in serious contention. They have the depth, but I think their lacking that 1 star. I'm hoping the Warriors will make a move by the deadline that can move both Van Exel and Dampier, and get that type of star player, that can be locked up at least for a few seasons. I don't like the fact of messing with these players who can opt-out, or in the last year of their contract, because that is very questionable on how your team may end up for the future. So I'm hoping the Warriors will do something that will help them out more in the long run.
Once the Warriors rid themselves of Dampier and Van Exel, the salary cap mess seems to be closer to in order. Look then, there are no big drains. Avery is gone after this year, as is Foyle. Cliffy is not overpaid and only one year left. The Warriors will be in a good position very soon. Somehow, someway, they need to develop a solid core and my guess is that starts with Murphy, Dunleavy, Claxton, and Pietrus and maybe J-Rich. I must admit I am intrigued by Pietrus. The little I have seen of him, he's as good an athlete as they said and he seems to have some good instincts (unlike Ricky Davis) and is a pretty good defender and decent shooter.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting philsmith75:</div><div class="quote_post">Oh I want to keep Foyle, its just he becomes a free agent I believe.</div>Yes he is a free agent at the end of the season but he is one of the guys that the Warriors MUST sign in the off season.
I like Foyle a lot, but I don't know if he's worth too much more than what he makes now ($4.4 million) considering he comes off the bench
I think the Warriors are and will be fine if they trade Damp and get an able center in return. The departure of NVE is inevitable, but if Speedy continues to play like he is right now, the Warriors will be set for next season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting franchise3:</div><div class="quote_post">The departure of NVE is inevitable, but if Speedy continues to play like he is right now, the Warriors will be set for next season.</div> Yes, Speedy will be our starter for years to come. He got shafted this year when the Warriors traded for NVE and put him at the point, now there is no denying that Claxton is deserving of the starting role.
Speedy is probably playing as well as he can right now. He's making great decisions, hitting open shots, setting up people for easy shots and getting key steals. I only hope it continues.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting custodianrules2:</div><div class="quote_post">Speedy needs some 3 point power to keep the zone defense honest.</div>That is his one weakness at the point. PGs don't respect his shot and can play off him. Its amazing that he is still able to penetrate the defense almost at will.
I still think he's awesome because he creates for others and can get to the foul line and sink em. The warriors really needed that since losing Gilbert.

He will be great if he can add a consistent 3pt shot.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting jayserinos99:</div><div class="quote_post">Adonal is an unrestricted free agent right?</div> Yes sir.
I would hope that Speedy does not actually become too dependent upon the 3. The major factor I have seen in why he has been scoring more consistently is that he is hitting his midrange jumper. Combining that with his penetration has made him dangerous. I love seeing him hit his midrange jumper.
