http://www.nba.com/warriors/news/jermareo_davidson_signed.html January 5, 2009 Warriors Sign Jermareo Davidson of NBA D-League To 10-Day Contract Guard DeMarcus Nelson Waived Jermareo Davidson has averaged 16.1 points and 10.8 rebounds this season with the NBDL's Idaho Stampede. The Golden State Warriors have signed forward Jermareo Davidson to a 10-day contact and placed guard DeMarcus Nelson on waivers, the team announced today. Davidson, 24, is being called-up from the NBA Developmental League’s Idaho Stampede, where he averaged 16.1 points and 10.8 rebounds in 15 games. The 6’10’’ forward ranked first in the D-League in double-doubles (10) and third in rebounding (10.8). He scored a season-high 25 points on December 10 vs. Dakota and grabbed a season-best 14 rebounds against the Los Angeles Defenders on December 12. Originally selected by the Warriors in the second round of the 2007 NBA Draft (#36 overall), Davidson had his rights traded to the Charlotte Bobcats on June 28, 2007. The draft-night trade sent Davidson and Jason Richardson to Charlotte in exchange for the rights to the eighth overall selection in the draft, Brandan Wright. Davidson appeared in 38 games with Charlotte during his rookie campaign in 2007-08, averaging 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds. Prior to being waived on October 27, 2008, he appeared in three preseason games with the Bobcats this season, averaging 2.0 points in 8.7 minutes. Nelson, 23, appeared in 13 games with Golden State this season, averaging 4.1 points and 1.0 assists in 13.1 minutes. Following a four-year college career at Duke, he was not selected in the 2008 NBA Draft and was signed by the Warriors as a free agent on September 9, 2008. Davidson, who will wear jersey #33 with the Warriors, becomes the third player this season and the 75th player overall in the D-League’s eight-year history to receive a call-up to the NBA. Additionally, Davidson becomes the sixth player called-up from the D-League by Golden State, joining C.J. Watson (2007-08), Kelenna Azubuike (2006-07), Renaldo Major (2006-07), Will Bynum (2005-06) and Rusty LaRue (2003-04).
I got a feeling Davidson sees more playing time than Wright even on a 10 day contract. He'll probably be used as a center at 230 pounds. But then again... isn't Davidson kind of a soft player?
I'm just wondering why did we go through the process of waiving Hendrix when we could have just brought him up instead of this guy. What should have happened was we waive DeMarcus Nelson instead of Hendrix at the time. So, we would have had 8 guards instead of 9? Come on!!! Well, we're now out a big man who's dominating the boards in the D-League and brought up some SCRUB who, you're right, will probably get more minutes than Wright and Randolph combined.
The moves they are making don't make any sense! It almost makes us not want to care anymore. I mean trading away conditional first rounder for Marcus Williams and then not playing him... Worrying about money and then spending future free agent money on stopgaps? What is it the Warriors want to do? They are really driving me crazy because of these puzzling moves and this seemingly lack of direction or vision. The warriors season slogan ought to be "I can't believe..." Maybe we can carry signs to home games that have the Warriors' "W" logo. The W would then be used in "WTF!?" signs. Of course, I bet security would confiscate those signs... I actually got booted off a Christian video game server for typing the acronym WTF. Unbelievable. I'm imagining WTF signs probably would not go that well at the arena. I'm thoroughly frustrated by the layers of ridiculousness this franchise has.
The only think I could think of is that the Warriors did not want to pay Hendrix, but I thought he signed a contract with them? This is another STOOPID move on the Warriors part in so many ways. It's a small move but STOOPID, and it will be a huge STOOPID if Hendrix becomes the next Paul Milsap.
Well, Wright is still possibly injured and Randolph is "on ice"...so they need some protection on the frontline, temporarily.
Yeah, if you play counterstrike or some other online pc game there's always somebody that runs a private server that claims to be a Christian server. I think it's mostly for those players that play together a lot and want to bond with their online friends over religion. Check this out though: http://www.christiangameservers.com/ When I was playing online games I was a god to be feared and worshiped by all other players! Plus, I stole items, killed other online players, cheated, and used a lot of words in vain. I also got auto-kicked off the server a whole bunch of times for chat filtered words I did not know were illegal such as "sucks", "crap", "wtf", "dammit", "hell", and "oh my god".
Okay, this is where Nellie's view just about has darkened the whole Warriors future for the foreseeable future: Per Matt Steinmetz at Examiner.com: I asked Nelson the difference between Davidson and Richard Hendrix, whom the Warriors waived. "Hendrix is more of an inside player," Nelson said. "Davidson has the ability to shoot the jump shot and is a little longer. They both rebound. I don't know much about Davidson. This is the first time I've seen him but he's better than I thought he would be." Damn, Nellie is simply never going to play winning basketball again, its all gimmicky crap from now until 3 years from now. I used to give him the break because he did not have the necessary pieces but they are there for him and he simply refuses to use them and rejects them. All Nellie NBA Team: C Camby Because he can shoot the jumper outside PF LeBron Because he's the strongest 3 out there who can shoot the 3. SF Redd Because he's got a great 3. SG AI Because he's the ideal Nellie mismatch at all times PG Melo Because he can create mismatches at all times. Oh yeah, they're all good at taking the basketball out after a made basket.
Exactly! I'll bet Rudy Gay is still a banned word and so is the national basketball association. Hmmm... too strong of a swear filter?
