We needed another SG/SF. Guy has been a bust but hes athletic and talented. Could do well if Nellie is still the coach.

i remember thinking that i wouldn't mind if the warriors drafted him, but i haven't heard much about him over the past couple seasons. if he's stayed healthy, and has the same athleticism that i remember, i wouldn't mind sprinkling him into the rotation

I really like this move because it addresses the need for depth at the SF position. Carney is a true SF, which means we won't be seeing Reggie Williams play there. Carney is athletic, but he's known as a good defender over anything else. I like that because we now have two guys at the SF position whose sole purpose is to be our perimeter defender. Management recognizes the importance of defense and also that the team has enough scorers. This probably means that a trade for Melo is very unlikely. With the team constructed as is, we have players that the coaching staff can easily define roles for. Bringing in Melo would disrupt that, IMO.

I'm going to presume his contract is de minimis and won't have a huge impact on the salary cap, but perhaps using up what's left on our MLE.

I don't mind having him but man, we really need a back up big! Pargo (fortunately nixed) and Carney cannot play center and I don't know why they're not concentrating there. Amundson would help a lot or at the very least get Chris Hunter back on a minimum contract.

Sounds like a mini deal. Carney's not signed yet, but think he adds a 3-pt shooter to the W's in addition to perimeter defense and true SF. His shooting percentages were poor last year, but his career has be erratic.

    How much $$ ?

If it's minimum then fine, no problem. He got minimum last year and produced minimum results, so...

But if it's more, then that's no good. If it's something like $2 mils, then that affects our ability to get/sign other players. But if it's minimum then fine, because he'll be better than most D-Leaguers so we could use an extra body at the SF.

Haven't followed him much since he was at Memphis. Back then he was a good outside shooter and excellent athlete. Dude could be lethal on the break. Never heard anything about him being a good defensive player, he certainly has the tools but to my knowledge he doesn't provide any good defense (again though, haven't followed him for years). Couldn't create much for himself, doesn't have a good handle and I reckon that hasn't changed much. If he can play D and shoot the 3 ball I can't see any reason not to like this signing. We need depth at SF. This guy has some potential, hes young, as good an athlete as there is in the NBA, I think he can shoot. Low risk. He'll be behind D Wright, Reggie Williams, and probly even Radmanovic lol.

I like this signing for the Warriors. He's a veteran. He's not going to waste his minutes on the court, no matter how few.
