Pacers look to rebound from 20-point loss

Indiana (16-13) at Golden State (17-15) 10:30 pm EST

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- The Indiana Pacers play the second game of their four-game road trip on Thursday with a contest against the Golden State Warriors.

Stephen Jackson scored 21 points and Fred Jones added 12 off the bench in the Pacers' 106-86 loss at Denver on Wednesday. All-Star Jermaine O'Neal missed his second straight game due to pneumonia.

The Pacers have lost five of their last six contests, dropping to 6-9 on the road. Jackson has been impressive over his last two games, averaging better than 22 points and six rebounds, including 19-of-23 free throws.

Jason Richardson scored 20 points and Derek Fisher added 18 off the bench in the Warriors' 104-94 loss at Memphis on Tuesday. Baron Davis struggled, scoring seven points on 3-of-9 shooting from the field.

At 17-15, Golden State matches the team's best start since going 18-14 during the 1993-94 season. Also, it marks the latest the Warriors have been over .500 since the end of the 1993-94 campaign.

Indiana has lost four straight at Oakland.

It's a chance to show DIogu and Biedrins to Indiana, because they are the guys who can be traded to Pacers with Pietrus if Artest's going to Oakland.Your thoats....

I've got thoughts on that last comment. We'd be fools to trade away Biedrins or Diogu or Taft. The biggest problem in Warriorland is our big men. We've never had toughness in the paint or athletic 7 foot guys that averaged double doubles in their first starts The second biggest problem is the small forward Dunleavy needs to start scoring more. Pietrus, Fisher, or Murphy was picking up Dunleavy's slack so we lived with his mediocre offensive contribution. A starting small forward needs to do more damage when guys like Jrich, Baron Davis are out drawing most of the defensive pressure. If Dunleavy takes too long to find his own shot and isn't setting the tone, then he's not a starter.
