I was looking back over some old threads on the Suns boards, and I found how pessimistic some of us were at how the Suns would fare this year. It started in free agency, when people said they shouldn't pick up Nash. That they'd only win if they got a C, and let Barbosa run the offense. We now see that would've been a big mistake. LINK After Nash and Q were signed, we said the Suns might still not make the playoffs, or would be a low seed that wouldn't go far. Now they're the best record in the league, and everybody is talking possible championship, if they can get past San Antonio. LINK There was even a post that said the only pure shooter on the team (even post free agency), was Casey Jacobsen. Well, now Casey's gone, and Q leads the league in 3-pointer made (including an All Star 3-pt. contest championship), and JJ is second in percentage, behind someone with many less attempts. LINK Overall, we were a little hasty on judging this team, and should've had more faith. Go Suns!
We weren't the only ones thinking along those lines. I'm more than happy to be proven wrong in this instance
Who did see this coming though, honestly? I had big doubts about Nash's durability, and what it would do to Barbosa's development. But, if they win the title, who can argue?
