If someone wants to do the research, that's be great. In the entire history of our franchise, have we EVER been 12 games ahead of the Lakers before? Not including this season. I don't think so. Certainly not in the 24 years I've followed the team. It's worth celebrating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
they call us "soccer moms" because they're idiots who repeat crap they heard on the radio or TV. it's the same reason why these other fans called the team "Jail Blazers" years after the fact. As for the original point of the thread, there are two responses. yes they have been over 12 games better than the Lakers before. 77-78, 91-92, 92-93 and 93-94. Not a lot, but it has happened. But the bigger point is, who really cares how many games they're ahead of the Lakers?
this isn't about hating the Lakers. It's about seeing the bigger picture. this isn't a contest to see if Portland finishes with a better record than the Lakers. If thats the goal of the season, or the consolation prize, it's missing the bigger picture.
Hell no! Hating them is more than they deserve. The greatest insult you can give them is to be completely indifferent. They are used to being every teams rival. They hear Beat L.A. in every gym outside of Staples. If you want to be like 27 other fanbases and scream Beat L.A. go right ahead but don't tell me I'm not a fan because I don't hate the right teams.
This. The greatest slight to the Lakers and their Flaker followers is that they be insignificant. Which they happen to be at the moment.
I'm happy to see the Lakers struggle. That roster is a joke and they have delusions of a superstar flying in with a magic cape to save the day. Thats just not going to happen, superstar max players don't sign with terrible lottery teams. Kobe will never be close to the player he once was and he is taking up half their salary cap. I'll happily enjoy their failures as those fans are arrogant and have an entitled attitude. The Lakers failures don't make our season, but its a great little bonus.
If those fans want to feel important because some of us hate them even when they're horrible I'm fine with it. If the Lakers suck I could care less how big of deal their fans think they are. They'll become a joke franchise just like the Knicks have been for decades.
And that would be the round about way of calling Mediocre Boy an idiot. That is really weird he talks about the himself in the 3rd person, as a Laker fan.
I prefer to have this thread swept under the rug. The Lakers are an absolute cluster fuck at the moment. It was going to happen eventually. Now, they get to crawl out of the cellar and work their way back to the top. The question is, how much help will they receive?
They will get just as much help as anyone else has. It is amazing to me that people still think they get help after the CP3 fiasco. If the league was really trying to help them then a Dwight Howard-Chris Paul core would have been the way to go
So many NBA conspiracy theorists (especially regarding the lakers) out there I just take people at their word when they say that stuff lol
