"When the game was on the line, Toronto goaltender Jean-Sébastien Giguère came up big. Just ask Brian Gionta, who had a couple of scoring chances when the Canadiens pulled goaltender Carey Price in the final minute in an attempt to erase a 3-2 deficit. "He made two or three big saves on me at the end," Gionta said. "I thought I had it, but he found a way to get his pad on it." Leafs head coach Ron Wilson said Giguère made the difference. "That's a game that we would have found ourselves getting tied in the final minute," Wilson said. The Canadiens dominated the first five minutes of the game, but a couple of mistakes provided the Leafs with a 2-0 lead. Toronto didn't get a shot in the first five minutes, but outshot Montreal 12-7 in the first period. "We were a little back on our heels to start the game," Gionta said. "We weren't putting it behind their (defence) but once we started doing that, I thought we started to take the game over. It was sort of a back-and-forth game." The Canadiens goals were provided by newcomers Dustin Boyd and Jeff Halpern, and Gionta said he liked their work ethic."
